I don’t know if you realize this, sweet friend, but you are loved.
You want to know something else? You are beautiful.
Oh and you are incredibly smart.
Funny.
Wise.
Brave.
Created to be exactly who you are, where you are, right now in this season.
Do you want to know what I find most amazing about you? When you look around where you are right now and realize that this season? It’s really not great. It’s kind of dreary. It’s hard. There is too much laundry, too many “to do” lists, to much pull from all directions and it’s impossible to want to climb out from under the covers, much less put one foot in front of the other. And even then? You do it. You do the thing.
You love.
You encourage.
You use the gifts God has given you to the best of your ability and they are sweet blessings to others who might never even bother to tell you their lives were changed.
You stick with it. You are brave and beautiful and you keep focused on God. On the days when the cool side of the pillow is more appealing than making another breakfast for the toddler who will throw most of it on the floor, you make the breakfast anyway.
And in your heart, when the smile doesn’t go all the way to your eyes and you wish someone would come rescue you for just a day, you still trust that God is for you.
He is, sweet sister. God is for you. Beside you. Before you. He strengthens when everything we have is empty.
You are loved.
And you can do this. I believe in you.
You might be wondering what all of those words have to do with a God Sized Dream Team. Don’t worry, it’s not some crazy sports team made up of bloggers. Because trust me…y’all don’t want to see me attempting any kind of sports. That is NOT my dream.
Here’s what I believe, what I’ve determined to be true based on Holley Gerth and her guidance. I believe God has created and called me to encourage women – especially mamas – through writing and speaking. That is my God Sized Dream. Because if it were up to me I would choose something that is already easy, and that speaking part? Believing anyone wants to read these humble words that I don’t even edit? Choosing a dream that I know others already do so well and trusting that God still wants me there, too? That is hard.
I believe that He has given me the gift of words, a heart for the broken. In a place of refinement I am becoming less of me, to make room for more of Him, and He gets the glory for it all.
I’ll be posting here throughout 2013 about this dream, letting you know how it’s going, refining and shaping it as I feel God leading. I’m committed to this God Sized Dream and to the doors I trust Him to open.
How can I encourage you today?
OOps and I’m still learning how to use this comment thing. 🙂 http://www.morgandaycecil.com
Sister in Christ! Kindred spirit encourager! Oh, how I appreciate your bravery. Thank you for trusting that indeed your voice is needed. I needed it today. I’m new to this community and I’m learning how to be in community. I too am a God Sized Dream team member but this is my first venture into commenting and connecting! (I gave my life to christ late in my life…I’m a rather new christian…and I never felt like I belonged with the “church girls” so Christ is definitely doing a work in me to give me courage to belong here with you all! (And funny, I’m learning how off I was in my judgement about what a “church girl” was ! 😉 Relief! You all are beautifully, bravely, broken too. Thank you for showing me what faith can look like today.
Love this Crystal!! Bless you and this journey 🙂 Can’t wait to read more from you.
What an inspiring and encouraging post, Crystal! Thrilled to be journeying alongside you as we DREAM big:)
I loved reading this, Crystal! So happy to be on the Dream Team with you…blessings!
Girl! You ARE encouragement and relationship personified! This is exciting but so completely predictable at the same time. Make sense? I believe thus is your sweet spot and that new red lipstick is just an outward sign of the confidence you have in Christ because of serving in your giftedness. What a blessing yo recognize it. Most never even get that far. Can’t wait to watch you blossom in this dream.
What a fabulous post, Crystal! You wrote it so well. Love the encouragement:) Happy to be Dream Teaming with you. Blessings on your year!
Oh Sarah, thank you for that encouragement! May God get the glory, whatever this year holds for my dream 🙂
I am learning so, so much from you. You speak love and Jesus and joy to my life – virtual cups of coffee & cupcakes 🙂
Hi Shelly! Thank you so much for stopping by to visit – I hope you feel welcome 🙂
Oh Ashley, I’m so glad! It truly is all God 🙂
I can’t thank you enough for this group, and for that affirmation!
Crystal, you absolutely have the gift of encouragement. THANK YOU for using to to touch all of our hearts! We need your voice, girl. 🙂
Absolutely loved every word of this! Thank you for sharing!!!
Yep, you are in your sweet spot in the God-sized dream. I don’t even know you, its my first time here and I felt encouragement in your words. Nice to meet you Crystal.
I love that you see Him already stretching you! But really, this is who He has made you to be! I also love that our dreams are kindreds! Praying for you sweet friend, may God lead on!
I love that you admit this: “Choosing a dream that I know others already do so well and trusting that God still wants me there, too? That is hard.”
It’s so true. It’s paralyzing at times. BUT…there is room for every single one of us to do what God calls us to. It’s so easy to forget that. Even if my gifts are the same as yours, they’ll be used uniquely because He’s made us unique in Him.
Praying for you as you take this step of faith!!
Thanks Emily!
Ok between you & Kris I’m going to be all teary this morning. Thank you. I adore you, and I miss you terribly!

Crystal, because I KNOW you, I can completely see why God would give you this dream.
