I’m linking up with Kate & the Five Minute Friday gals this week, where we write about the same prompt for 5 minutes straight, no editing or over-thinking. It’s chaotic and fun and the link-up is full of some of the best women on the internet – so if you’re visiting from the link-up, welcome! And if you haven’t already, be sure to visit Kate’s site and read some of the other posts – you’ll be so glad you did 🙂
There is something new on the horizon. This month as I write “live” in this space only a few times I’m choosing to use my blogging time to do something new. To create, look forward, make a new adventure. I want to create, to dream big and try and fail and seek where God wants me to be in this season, and it’s exciting.
Maybe your at the beginning of something new, the anticipation building as you wait for God to reveal the next step. Or maybe you’re in the middle of the journey God has set you on and you’re growing weary in the thick of it. Or maybe you’ve watch a dream grow and go out into the world and now you’ve released it back to God and are trusting Him to do the next thing with it.
Wherever you are in it? Be encouraged. Do the new thing. Ask God to refresh you and give you a new fire for the rest of your journey. Thank God for His faithfulness through it all and set your eyes forward. Let’s go forward as adventurers seeking what God has for us in the next step, not looking backwards at what could have/should have/didn’t happen – or sideways at what she is doing.
Living lives of adventure means leaving a legacy of women who say “Here I am God. Let’s do a new thing.”

That was very encouraging. Thanks for sharing.
God is doing something new in this season of my life, and newness means uncharted territory. I am constantly reminding myself that new, unclear and unknown to me does not need to be frightening. God is not in unaware of what needs to happen in this season. I simply need to walk with Him where He is leading me. Thank you for writing.
Oh what a reminder: to ask God to refresh me! Why do I forget to do that? And I try to muster up the new motivations and creativity on my own. Thanks for this message today! I needed these words. Great post!
Your post was very encouraging. Keep writing!
Thank you for such sweet encouragement. After waiting some time, wondering if He would ask me to do anything new and He now is. I am on my knees praying “Here I am God. Let’s do a new thing.”

I love this because several years ago I NEVER would have even considered having these words come out of my mouth. Through trial and pain and unexpected circumstances though, I’m now in a different spiritual place and ready for this “new thing”.
Thank you for encouraging others along the same journey!
Crystal,
I love the quote and your perspective on focusing on the new with a reminder not to look backward and especially not sideways! I don’t always comment, but enjoy popping by your blog – always a welcome place!! Blessings,
Bev
What a great encouragement! God truly does new things, and he wants to do them with us as well. That’s exciting! Cheering you on for the 31 Days!
May God be with you as you start your new adventure–and thank you for the encouragement–I’m doing the #write31days challenge (fmf style). I’ve never posted so many times in a week–and certainly not in a month!
Your words are always so sweet and encouraging Crystal! I am so happy I followed you this week! This post is what I needed, not looking back seems to be my problem, looking forward to the good and NEW is the answer and God is the way! Thank you
Such a needed and true reminder to be where I am, do what God’s asked me to and to not look sideways! Thank you for this!
Girl, what can you *not* do? You’re everywhere all at once! And so fast! 😉 Super impressive .. Hope you’re enjoying the conference, and so glad you made time to link up with us this week!
