Loving Well: A Chat with Heather MacFadyen

Encouraging Conversations: Heather MacFadyen

Today I’m excited to chat with my amazing friend Heather (you might remember I introduced her last month). She is one of my favorite women on the internet and when I asked her what she is currently passionate about that we could share with all of you, she said “loving our husbands well.”

I think I needed to hear what she had to say more than anyone.

It’s hard to love others well. Husbands, friends, co-workers, children – we’re built with a “what’s in it for me” mindset that I, personally, have to fight on a daily basis. I’m not good at naturally thinking about how I can serve someone else, and I’m definitely not good at thinking outside of my own love languages.

So Heather and I chat about the 5 Love Languages and how hard is for us to be married to guys who don’t speak OR receive the same love languages that we do, and we talk about how our innate language is criticism, not love. Heather also gives some really great tips on encouraging our husbands to take time to be refilled so they can continue to pour into our families.

It’s what we talk about around here all the time, right? When you’re a leader or community builder or mama or friend – you’re pouring out for others all the time. It’s so important to do something where you’re just a member – not leading – so you can be filled up. Join us today as we chat & encourage – whether you’re married or not, I just know you’ll love what Heather has to share! {email subscribers click here to view}

    So great to read and hear you, Crystal! It has been too long! Listening from Bakersfield, California. LOL. Love what you’re saying and how you are saying it. Loving well is significant… and growing into loving well is among the most important lessons we can learn. Hugs!!
