So I want to try something new this week with Community Introductions. I want to invite you to come along with me and share about your favorite people that you’ve met through blogging or social media or in your real life. I’ll add a linky tool at the bottom of this post for you to share with all of us. The internet could use an extra boost of encouragement, and nothing makes me happier than surprising someone with a note in their inbox that tells them I’m telling the world how amazing they are 🙂 The less I write about myself and the more I write about others, the happier this space makes me…so I’d love to have you join me and shine the light on someone else this week!
On to today’s special guest!
So I’ve known Heather online for awhile now – she has a phenomenally encouraging blog over at God Centered Mom, a podcast I love to listen to, she’s the mama of 4 boys and she’s also been one of the amazing hosts/MC of the Declare Conference the last two years. (side note: I sometimes get facts wrong in these intros because I have a toddler who stole all my good brain cells. Heather – if I messed any of that up, please correct me & I’ll go fix it).
Heather is someone I trust with my heart and my biggest, wildest dreams <– truth. She might live in Texas, but with the awesomeness of technology she is only a Voxer message away. Heather makes me laugh like no one else, she speaks truth over my life, and she has done more than just cheer for me when she knows I have a dream of speaking to encourage women – she has given me the opportunity to actually do it, because she believes in me. And she appreciates my wacky TV choices and teaches me how to be in the world but not of the world, to learn how to share culture with my family with a God-centered perspective.
On those hard mama days when I feel like a complete failure, Heather encourages me with stories of her own kiddos and how I, too, will survive. I consider her a mentor, a friend, a co-worker in the kingdom, and a sister in Christ who always points me back to Jesus when I feel like I’m a little off-center.
Did I mention she makes me laugh? There is nothing I cherish in life more than a friend who can make me laugh and find the joy in the ridiculous, crazy days we find ourselves in. Heather does that for me – and at the same time she is one of those rare women who listens and feels with her whole heart and can go from speaking a truth over me, to crying with me, to making me laugh all in one conversation.
