When we believe that when God says He has plans for us, it means me, too. Not just everyone else. That’s when we start to let the roots of our God Sized Dreams gently take root. But what happens next? What happens after I’ve decided what it is I think God is calling me to do, but I still have to do all of those responsible “adult” things and take care of my family? How do I keep my dream moving forward?
I seek more.
I pray more.
I worship more.
I breath more.
I step out of my comfort zone more.
I practice more.
I fail more.
I learn more.
I prioritize more.
I listen more.
The day to day has to happen, but that doesn’t mean my God Sized Dream can’t build right along side the day job, the responsibilities, the dishes, the laundry, and taking care of my family. The only thing I need “more” of when it comes to my dream of encouraging women through writing and speaking (and another secret little piece of it) is God. It’s really everything I need. I could say I need more courage, but He gives me all I need. I could say I need more doors to open, but I know He has His hand on the doors that are right for me. I know I’d like more opportunities, but I know His plans for me are good, and so all I need is more Jesus.
Less of me.
More of Him.
“That’s why my cup is running over. This is the assigned moment for him to move into the center, while I slip off to the sidelines.” John 3:30 MSG

“while I slip off to the sidelines.” I love that image, and that translation. I also loved the way you weaved the tension of balancing regular life with that secret desire of realizing a God-Sized Dream. Beautiful!
Peace and good to you Crystal.

Imagine my delight when I saw your OneWord at the top of your post, and recognized it as my own for this year! Yes to less of me and more of Him. It is through that letting go and committing to the appropriate actions that the weeds are cleared to make room for the dream to take root and thrive. Beautifully said!

Hi Crystal. I’m popping over from Holley’s page to say “Hi” to you today. How my heart says a deep “Amen” to your words. When all else has been considered, it comes down to what we need more of is as you stated here: “Less of me. More of Him”. I couldn’t agree more! Stay blessed and encouraged by His Presence on your God-sized Dream journey, my friend, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Blessings and love 🙂 xx
