Hey there! It’s been quiet on the blog homestead this week – if you read yesterday’s post you’ll know I’ve been in the middle of some big decision making, and I honestly felt out of words. I also had the chance to spend an entire day with a good friend who came to visit me on Wednesday and it was so good for my soul. It’s good to have friends who know what you need even before you know what you need!
Another fabulously talented friend of mine took some photos for us for a few projects we have coming up (make sure you follow (in)courage so you don’t miss any of those announcements!) and it felt so good just to sit on our patio and chat. No work meetings, no conference stress, no distractions. Just good heart talk, getting to know each other better, laughing, and cupcakes.
So now we’re at the end of the week and it’s time for Friday Favorites! There are affiliate links sprinkled throughout, which just means that if you click through and choose to purchase something, I’ll receive a small payment, at no extra charge or work for you.
Read
Making Good Habits, Breaking Bad Habits – I’m getting ready to do a book club for this Joyce Meyer book and I’m really excited about it. You really can’t go wrong with anything from Joyce, and I can’t wait to see how this book takes what I’m doing with the 21 Day Fix to a new level. I love knowing that I’m in a group that cheers for me as I take care of my health through fitness and nutrition AND cares about my heart and keeping me focused on God through it all. If you want to learn more about the book study or the Facebook group, feel free to email me!
This chocolate muffin recipe – again, a recipe. I know! But I made these over the weekend and my family was shocked that they liked them. The chickpeas kept throwing everyone off, but they are moist, delicious, incredibly easy AND good for you. How’s that for a win?
Online Bible Studies from LifeWay – LifeWay Women is offering some great online Bible studies this summer – Angie Smith’s “Seamless” will run June 18- July 30 and Kelly Minter’s “What Love Is” will run June 16 – July 28. Good luck choosing, they’re both amazing!
Watch
Pitch Perfect – I know. I KNOW. I’m so behind the times on this one. But I’m going to see the new one with friends who thought I should see the first one, so I watched it. And I loved it. I’m a nerd for a capella and I was totally cheering and clapping at my computer screen. And then gagging because EW and then cheering and grinning some more.
I’ve also spent the last week watching all the season finales of all the shows I love. Warning: SPOILERS. Dancing with the Stars (yay Rumor! I voted for her every week, so happy they won!), the Amazing Race (incredibly glad the couple that fought the whole time didn’t win – love that show so much but that blind date twist was strange), and Survivor (SO happy Mike won – and can’t wait for the new second chance season!). Would you ever go on Survivor or The Amazing Race? I don’t know that I would – I kind of hate running, gross food, bugs, sand, heat, and competing. But I’d love to cheer for someone I knew on the show!
Wear
This shirt from Anthro – I’m obsessively stalking their website to see if it goes on sale. It’s so cute, and so my style, but so NOT my price range! I love it in “neutral motif” and the back is my absolute favorite! What color would you pick?
These pj pants from Target – This photo does an awful job showing how cute these are. They’re longer on me than on that model, and they’re flowy and light and SO comfortable – and they have pockets! I’m honestly tempted to wear them with a cute tank and some sandals and make it an outfit.
A little bonus favorite for you, in case you haven’t seen this around the interwebs – if you register for dotMOM before June 1st you can save $30 – which means registration for this one is only $69! With speakers like Karen Kingsbury, worship with Christy Nockels, and Sophie Hudson & Melanie Shankle as MCs, you know it’s going to be a good time! If you don’t have plans September 25-26, grab some mama friends and get away for the weekend – you definitely won’t regret it.

SUCH good soul therapy for me too – I think my nose caught a bit of a tan from being out on your patio 🙂 And YES to Pitch Perfect – so funny, because it so IS fun and swoony and then ewwww and then so fun again. Can NOT wait to see number 2!
