Dear Weary Mom,
God wins. Always.
I know it can seem like the walls are coming in on you and there is no way that life will ever be easy, manageable, or peaceful again. I know what it’s like to try to have a conversation over a screaming toddler who has discovered the joy of banging a cup on the table. While not eating. But having a meltdown because she’s hungry. I know what it’s like to walk through a never-clean house, picking up the same toy for the 50th time in two days in a rush to make a few rooms presentable for guests who are coming for dinner.
No matter what season you’re going through right now, I need to make sure you know that God wins. At the end of the story, when it’s all said and done, when the final chapter comes to a close. He wins. The weight you’re walking under now, the weariness, the anxiety? It will be replaced with joy.
- Stand firm (1 Peter 5:9)
- You will be restored (1 Peter 5:10)
- Our help is in the name of the Lord (Psalm 124:8)
- God delights over you with singing (Zephaniah 3:17)
- He saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18)
“Look! Look! God has moved into the neighborhood, making his home with men and women! They’re his people, he’s their God. He’ll wipe every tear from their eyes. Death is gone for good—tears gone, crying gone, pain gone—all the first order of things gone.” The Enthroned continued, “Look! I’m making everything new. Write it all down—each word dependable and accurate.” Then he said, “It’s happened. I’m A to Z. I’m the Beginning, I’m the Conclusion. From Water-of-Life Well I give freely to the thirsty. Conquerors inherit all this. I’ll be God to them, they’ll be sons and daughters to me. (Revelation 21:3-8, MSG)
Reheat that cup of coffee, mama. Lift that head up. Trust in the promises of your Father – he calls you daughter and invites you to rest. These days can seem impossibly hard, the nights endlessly long. But no matter how we fail, how many do-overs we wish we could have, or how many words we wish we could take back, God never leaves our side. We are his, forever.
I’m linking up today with the Hope for the Weary Mom site for their weekly “Dear Weary Mom” linky party! If you’ve stopped over from their site, welcome! If you haven’t been to their page yet today, hop on over and leave some other weary mamas some love 🙂
