Hope in Our Weariness: A Chat with Stacey Thacker

31 Days of Encouraging Conversations: Stacey Thacker

When I was a brand new mama, I read Hope for the Weary Mom. What Stacey and Brooke wrote in that book changed my entire perspective on motherhood and where I find my hope. As Stacey mentions during our chat, hope is not an emotion – our hope is a person named Jesus.

And that has made all the difference.

I thought I would find hope through success as a mama. When my kiddo would sleep through the night or meet a certain milestone. I thought my hope would be found in schedules and checklists and at the end of the day? Motherhood is unpredictable and Christ is my firm foundation.

I want to encourage you to watch (or listen) to today’s video even if you don’t think it applies to you because you’re not a mama. We are all weary, we are all busy, we are all looking for hope. Stacey offers beautiful encouragement and wisdom that I know you’ll just love. In those moments where we just want Jesus to swoop in and fix it, Stacey shares what she learned – that what Jesus wants isn’t to just fix it for us, but to be invited into the mess with us so that He can work through us IN it.

Hope does not disappoint.

Hope really does hold up.

I know Stacey and I share a little of our real life experiences in the video, but I want to make sure you know that we’re coming to this conversation as two broken mamas who are a work in progress and working every day toward what God has for us. We haven’t arrived. We’re not experts. We’re just sisters in Christ who have come together because we are mamas to daughters, love community, and want to encourage you today that there IS hope.
