Oh my word. Y’all. I have had such a blast doing this video series this month, and I hope you’ve enjoyed them, too {if you need to catch up, just click the image at the bottom of the post}! One of my favorite parts is that I get to connect with these amazing friends of mine – and usually our “behind-the-scenes” off-camera, unrecorded moments are more than I could have ever hoped for.
I will tell you right now that my face hurt from laughing when Annie and I finally got off the computer to get on with our days. Not that this topic is particularly funny – though there are moments where we’re more than a little awkward. Annie is just the kind of friend that brings me joy, and even though she doesn’t want the label of “writer,” I think she a completely gifted storyteller. And I hope that she does one day write and illustrate children’s books because I would buy every single one of them.
Today we’re chatting about leaning into our seasons, and what those look like right now. We discuss what it means to savor those moments, to be gentle with ourselves, and how being honest with God about our season helps us to be present in it – and to share it with others.
When we invite others into our season of life, whether they’re in the same one or not, that’s when authentic community is formed. I hope you’ll take time today to watch this video and be encouraged – whether God is walking with you through a time of planting, waiting, or harvesting – He’s there with you, and His plans for you are good.

Oh, Crystal, this is the first video I actually took the time to listen to because I’m a chronological person and I felt like I should start at the beginning, but I just keep procrastinating on the starting (I’m procrastinating on a lot of things lately), I’m glad I started here instead and I just want to say thank you to you and Annie for sharing your words and hearts today! So much good stuff, I want to listen again when I can sit and take notes! 🙂
I appreciated Annie encouraging that your daughter imitating you on your phone is no different then imitating a gardener, etc. and I look forward to digging into the prayer/spiritual sites you shared…
also, regarding personality types, I’m feeling very schizophrenic… every time I take a personality test I get a different result (except for the *I*, that never changes) 🙂
Oh Julie! I’m so glad you watched/listened to this one first 🙂 And technically going in reverse order works just fine (it’s how I read magazines!). Love you, friend. So blessed that you were encouraged.
Loved spending time with you, Crystal. Some of the things you said that day are still swirling around in my mind. I’m so grateful for the way you encourage, inspire, and keep it real. Love you, Crystal.
