Unexpected Blessings – A “God Centered Mom” Podcast

Late last summer I received an email from the fabulous Heather MacFadyen, wondering if I might be interested in helping the Declare Conference with a little social media work. I’d just started my VA work and it was an honor to be invited to share in the behind the scenes experience of a blogging conference (one that turned into my favorite conference..ever..). What I didn’t realize was how much I’d be blessed by the entire conference team, and Heather specifically.

She is the real deal. Hilarious, honest, God-focused and inspiring. She is one of the rare few who can bring me out of my comfort zone to do incredibly goofy things in photo booths. Her Voxer messages are also some of the funniest I’ve ever received.

Rabbit trail: how would you write out the noise that Voxer makes? Bleep bleep? Blurp? {Yes, this was one of our Voxer conversations. And yes, I do want to know.}

When Heather started her God Centered Mom podcast, I fell in love. The women she was interviewing were amazing. I’ve been learning so much from these Godly women who have shared their stories, their advice, their wisdom. So when I sent Heather a message and mentioned that I’d like to do a podcast with her, I fully expected her to send me a polite, potentially funny “no.”

Instead? She asked me to tell her my story. And then she invited me to join her, and kindly put up with the coffee shop noise in the background, the fact that I was sick, the crazy rabbit trails and Whovian chatter. When we find safe spaces and kind people to share our stories, it’s amazing what God will reveal. My motherhood story? I think you might be a little surprised about parts of it. And I’d love to invite you to listen to the podcast today – I’m not sure if it will be live on iTunes as soon as this post is live, but you’ll be able to access it today 🙂
