I love sitting here in our living room, furniture rearranged to make room for the Christmas tree, nativity scene on our new shelves, and warm cup of coffee and a computer full of fun Thanksgiving memories. (Confession: I love moving our furniture around, so it makes me smile just to have a new place to sit in our living room. Dork.)
We had such a great time hosting Thanksgiving at our house this year – 12 adults and our niece Bella, all around the table eating more food that I ever imagined possible. Everyone so helpful and encouraging – and didn’t even complain when we ate an hour late because our turkey just would.not.cook! We started a new tradition this year, with a 5k (ok…2 mile walk) to kick off the morning – it might have been rainy and freezing cold but it was so much fun! I even won a gift certificate to a local butcher shop (random, I know).
As much as I love Thankgiving, our pre and ย post-Thanksgiving traditions are some of my favorites. Eating sushi on Thanksgiving eve; Ggoing out on Black Friday to get our Christmas tree; Matt making ham & bean soup with our leftovers to eat after the tree is decorated with mom’s gingerbread for dessert; going through the photos from the year to make next year’s calendar on Shutterfly. It’s been a great weekend ๐
