Time Management Tip: Use Technology Wisely
Social media is an amazing way to share your story and the work God has given you to do, but it can honestly be a massive time suck. I’ll be honest and tell you that the first thing I do in the morning is reach for my phone to scroll through Instagram. I love the community there, but I can definitely spend more time scrolling than serving. So how do we stay in these spaces we love and use the technology at our fingertips in a way that helps us in our holy hustle instead of hinders? Look at the tools you already have on your smartphone. Use your timer to dedicate specific work time for your projects, focusing on just one thing until the timer runs out. Use your notepad app to write down ideas and inspiration that come to you when you’re away from your computer. Learn to use tools like Buffer, Later, and Hootsuite to schedule your social media posts so you aren’t tied to your desk all the time. Your community won’t feel cheated if your posts go out automatically – instead, they’ll feel more connected to you when you have the time and ability to engage with them in real time and set an example of what it looks like to work hard and rest well.
Inspiration: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
