Oh sweet child. How are you 10 months old? You are growing like a weed – literally this week you no longer fit in any of your clothes. You stand taller than the 1 year olds at daycare. Your amazing personality is starting to shine through and we love it.
Ok, we don’t love the angry back arching/throwing your head back/screaming fits when we try to make you do something/go somewhere that you don’t want to do. Like getting your diaper changed. Or putting your arm in a sleeve.
You’ve decided that crawling is SO two months ago and now you walk. Everywhere. Not always gracefully, and with lots of falling & getting back up, but you pretty much refuse to crawl. Unless you’re tired.
You do this thing now that we call “cute face.” If you’re near a pillow, you lay down and wait for us to say “awww.” And when someone new comes over to say hi, you lay your head on our shoulders and give them big brown eyes. You aren’t shy. You know they love the cuteness 🙂
Although your vocabulary is still very limited, you like to say “duck” and you’ve gotten the first half of “uh oh” down pretty well. We swear we think we hear you saying other things, like how you just walked to daddy with your ball and said “my ball”…but you are one smart little girl and we have no doubt that once you start talking you won’t stop. So we’re ok with the limited vocab for now.
When it comes to food, you love it all. But especially fruit. You would live on mandarin oranges if we let you. Your favorite toys are mommy’s socks and scarves, the TV remote, and pretty much anything you aren’t allowed to have. You can’t get enough of the “hotdog dance” on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and your best buddies are Jake & the Neverland Pirates.
Any chance we get for a Sunday morning snuggle, we’ll take. You love fuzzy blankets and have decided that your naptime blankets are your lovies. You hug one when you eat your bottle & we cover you with a second one when we put your in your crib. It’s made naptime & bedtime a lot easier.
You amaze us. We love you. And I can’t believe I have to start planning your first birthday party soon!
Too fast! And this is such a fun age for her..she just walks around, exploring, and laughing to herself. My beautiful little goofball 🙂 Wish I could sneak her along to Allume but I’d never actually be able to concentrate or make friends (but she would! she’s a social butterfly).
What a sweet post! They grow up SO fast, don’t they?!
