I’ve posted about how much I love the work of Mercy House Kenya before, but … y’all. Sigh. They have completely stolen my heart with some of their new products.
In our house, nothing pleases my little girl more than to wear mama’s Freeset USA bangles. So I probably shouldn’t have been surprised that she snagged the Mercy House “Love Mercy” Freeset tote as soon as she saw it. The girl has good taste, what can I say?
But before I get to all of that, can I invite you to watch this video about Mercy House? Featured at last year’s (in)RL conference hosted by (in)courage, this beautiful video tells the story of Mercy House Kenya:
Mercy House exists to provide an alternative options to pregnant girls living in the streets of Kenya. As of November 2012, Rehema House is home to 8 mamas and 8 sweet babies, plus a handful of staff. One of my favorite things? Executive Director Maureen is a graduate of the Compassion Leadership program and a former sponsored child. Her own testimony has lead to the sponsorship of more than 1,000 Compassion children. It is simply amazing what God can do!
The work? The care? The staff? It doesn’t happen for free. So Mercy House offers a few ways to support their ministry. You can donate here or you can purchase from their store. Many of the items are handmade by the girls who live at Mercy House and they make amazing gifts.
And let’s just talk about how much of a rockstar I feel like in the new shirt? It’s so cute and will definitely have people asking where I got it! A tip though…they run small. I went a size up and it’s PERFECT.
And then they teamed up with Freeset USA for amazing tote bags and my head exploded from the awesomeness. It’s a two-for-one win when you buy one. You help support the moms & babies at Mercy House AND the women who make the bags, who have been rescued from sex-trafficking in Calcutta, India.
And they are $20. It’s a seriously beautiful bag and once I can get it back from my toddler I will be using it every day!
So….would you like to win a tote bag?
I’m pretty sure you would.
I know I would. I might have to if my daughter never gives mine back.
It’ll be easy peasy to enter – just follow the rafflecopter instructions! Winner will be notified by email on March 15th.
LOVE Mercy House!!
I’ve wanted a shirt for awhile or a bag (I’m a sucker for bags)! Love Mercy House!
I just love these projects that help moms and children. When I’m able, I usually donate outright and don’t bother with the swag, but I love this logo! (Confession: I do this with things from Sevenly, too.)
Philanthropies teaming…awesome! I ordered 10+ freeset bags at Christmas time, and I have given them as gifts.
I love the rolled art of Africa!
So cute! What a great company!
I love their ministry!
