We met, the 6 of us, a variety of ages and life stages and we were real.
We laughed, we cried, we shared our God sized dreams.
We encouraged, we were (in) courage, and we stopped being “fine” for a few hours on a chilly Saturday in PA.
There was chocolate. Nutella. Cupcakes. Gifts.
We met God there, in the comfy couches of my living room. Watching videos of an amazing journey – God using social media, blogging, and book clubs to bring together women to do live out His plans.

It was beautiful and real and more than we could have hoped for. For a few hours we were in community with nearly 2,000 other women (and a few brave guys!) learning about why community is essential. Learning that the only time it’s ok to be fake is to be a “fake extrovert.” Learning that it’s impossible to be perfect and real at the same time. Learning that we need to learn to say “no” without guilt so that we can stop being burned out, which makes us say “no” to what God might really need us to say “yes” to. Learning that we need to get over ourselves, because it’s not about us. It’s about God.
So when I get frustrated and want to give up on community because I’m tired of always being the one planning it, I’ll remember. I’ll remember that it’s worth it.
Thank you, (in)courage, for saying “yes” when God asked you to do this “un-conference.” Can we do it again soon?
If you missed the in(RL) un-conference this past weekend you can pre-order the DVD and study books (and the AWESOME shirt) here 🙂
I really identified with that thought as well – why is it always me who has to organise these things! Then I realised that without me hosting it, we wouldn’t have all been sitting around sharing and watching (in)RL together!
Was the Nutella for Gypsy Mama?!!
In the craziness of school projects … thanks for inviting me to stop and listen, to hear and be reminded once again of what is truly important … our LORD, the desire of His heart and sharing His love … thanks for sharing your home Crystal, it was lovely <3
Thanks Monica!
So glad you & Parker could be there 🙂 Just signed up to host a Mercy House Kenya party – I’ll keep you posted on the date!
great post! Couldn’t have said it better myself. Thanks again for hosting – you were amazing 🙂 Love ya!
Looks like you had a lovely time. Good for you!
