Hey everyone! I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to be partnering with Mary Beth at New Life Steward as your “(in)Motherhood” team! I’m probably going to use entirely too many exclamation points in this blog post, so y’all will have to show this mama a little grace. This opportunity from the (in)courage team to be an (in)courager to new (and expecting!) moms is an answer to prayer, so I’m … well… excited 😀
About our group:
Between piles of dirty clothes, diapers, toys, carseats, feedings, sleepless nights, child care options, trying to maintain a home and work (in some form or another) – we get “new moms!” We are blessed to feel called to encourage you! We’re going to keep it real as we share honestly about the highs and lows of motherhood, where God has called us to be, and how we are drawn to our knees daily to lift up our families – because the only perfect parent is our Father. We aren’t experts, but we’ve been there – we ARE there, and we pray that we would be (in)couragers to new (and expectant!) moms as you walk through this season. We’re already praying for you & focusing on Joshua 1:9 as our theme verse!
We’re so excited to have you join our (in)Motherhood blog link up! Here’s the schedule if you’d like to plan ahead:
10/9: Introduce yourself
10/23: A Letter to your child(ren)
11/6: Embarrassing stories from motherhood
11/20: Unexpected moments in parenting
12/4: Keeping it Real/A Day in the Life
The rules are simple: Write a letter to your child(ren). Write a love letter, an apology letter, an encouraging note, a prayer for them. Whatever you have on your heart. Then come back here and submit the permalink to your actual post (not your blog!) below! Be sure to take a few minutes and visit a few of the other ladies in the group too! Everyone loves a comment!
Dear Madison-
I need to tell you that you are an answer to so many prayers. We had to wait a little longer than we would have liked for you, but God’s timing is perfect. You might not see it in this lifetime, but it is perfect.
If you grow up knowing nothing else, I pray that you would know these truths:
You are wanted
You are loved
You are beautiful
You are prayed over
You have brought healing and joy to your mama’s heart. I am in awe of the child God has blessed us with. It’s not always easy. You are strong-willed and independent. When we ask you not to do something it’s to keep you safe, and you don’t understand that right now. You pitch these amazing fits where you throw your head back, silent cry, fall to the floor and wait for us to come comfort you. We won’t always run to you when you cry, but it’s not because we don’t love you.
This personality of yours will give you the ability to do great things as you grow older. You are sensitive to the moods of people around you. You will be an influencer. You will have powers of persuasion with those big brown eyes. Use it for God’s glory.
Life won’t be easy. I can promise that you will fail. You will be hurt. You will have your heart broken. And I don’t want you to ever go through those things. But you need to – it’s in those times that you will grow closer to God and become the women He knows you can be. And no matter how big the hurt, your mommy & daddy will always be here for you.
Always.
We love you, peanut.
Hugs to my little Madi! Praying blessings over this special little girl!
What important truths for you to want Madison to know! She’s such a blessed little girl!
What a wonderful letter full of truth and love. Thanks for sharing your heart for your daughter. It is as beautiful as she is! Oh, and aren’t brown eyes just the sweetest?
This is so precious and so honest. She does have some pretty gorgeous big brown eyes!
