Our little girl is 6 months old already. Time has flown so quickly that I even forgot to write a post when she turned 5 months, and now we’re at the half birthday!
Madison, this Mother’s Day I told you that I was so glad to be your mommy. And it’s true. Every second of the day I’m so thankful for you. Even when you stay awake all night – every Sunday – I’ve figured out that it’s been God’s way of making me focus on the important things. I don’t have energy left to fight battles that aren’t mine, and it’s been good. You’re teaching us patience, love, kindness, and how to find joy in everything. Your mommy would never be considered silly before, but to make you laugh? Anything.
You have discovered that you can not only sleep well on your side, but now you can roll onto your tummy. We’re still working on rolling back over, but you sleep the best snuggled on your stomach. Until you wake up and start chattering. A lot. You love to “talk” and make noise and eat your toes. Which is fabulous, unless you do it at 3 a.m. in which case…please just go back to sleep. Hugs.
You love to jump and bounce. We have the bruises on our legs to prove it. You are constantly in motion, wiggling, bending, rolling, jumping – and this is all before learning to crawl! Oh goodness.
You love to sit on your own and play with your toys, as long as one of us is within eyesight. You are fearless and can’t get enough horsey rides on daddy’s shoulders. Your new swing? Loved it. I’m pretty sure you are the most beautiful little girl on the planet and Gerber, Fisher Price, & Old Navy need to get you in an ad campaign. Just a suggestion. Not biased at all.
I think you’re teething. If you aren’t teething, you win the world record for the most amount of drool coming out of a child for no reason. Please get teeth soon so we can move on. Muah.
You smile all the time. It makes us all so happy. You are a joy to be around and you have wiggled your way deep into our hearts. It hasn’t been the easiest 6 months, but when I walk into your room and you great me with a big gummy grin and lift your arms toward me? Worth it. You are our every day blessing. We love you.
She’s such a cutie! It is crazy how fast it goes, I can’t believe she’s six months already. I also have one of those wrigglers, all I can say is watch out 😉
Love that we both wrote about our daughters today 🙂 And I love reading your heart for Madi – so glad for the blessings God is giving you through her!
