Read
“Is It Just Me?” – My mom sent me this book by Miranda Hart for my birthday because we share a similar sense of humor and she knows I’ve enjoyed my share of “Call the Midwife” episodes. Miranda, who is an absolutely hilarious comedian, plays ‘Chummy’ on the show, and this book is her chronicle of a lifetime of awkward experiences and conversations with her 18 year-old self.
Creative Basics – Oh hey. That Crystal Stine gal who wrote that book seems pretty cool, you should totally check it out. Ahem.
In all seriousness, I’m so delighted to let you know that all of the awesome from April’s 30 Day Challenge is now available in either an eBook or paperback format with updates, FAQs, extra content and resources. If you missed the challenge in April, fell behind, just want to clear out your inbox, or would like to suggest it to a friend, you can find all the info about the books and how to buy them here.
It was such an honor to meet so many amazing new friends who have now spent the last month making the internet a more beautiful, inspiring place.
Watch
PiYo – So I know that a workout video probably isn’t exactly what everyone has high on their list of shows to watch, but I really love this program. I’ve been taking an in-studio PiYo class for awhile now, and it’s up there with Zumba as one of the highlights of my week. And honestly other than watching the Dancing with the Stars 10th Anniversary special, I haven’t seen much on TV lately worth chatting about.
Any new shows I need to check out?
Wear
Elegantees Shirt – So the wonderful gals at Elegantees sent me a sweet coupon for my birthday, which I used immediately to order a new shirt. I found one I liked a lot in the sale section, which made it a SUPER affordable purchase – I just love a good deal. And listen – this shirt? I’m in love. It’s the most beautiful soft blue, with cap sleeves, a fun cut-out and it’s just the right length. And you can still get free shipping with code ‘CRYSTAL’ – yay!
Wrenn Jewelry Earrings – I’ve been following Wrenn Jewelry on Instagram for awhile and have been absolutely in love with their beautiful druzy earrings. I finally had the chance to order myself a pair as a birthday gift and they came yesterday. The sparkle. The rose gold. Did I mention the sparkle? They’re small enough to be an every day earring with enough glamour to make it look like I actually made an attempt to get dressed 😉
Giveaway
Ok so you know how I almost never having anything for the “Listen” part of this round up? I’m thinking of switching it up and getting rid of that category 😉 And today I’m replacing it with “giveaway!” Woot!
One of my favorite things to do is drink coffee. Especially with a friend. There’s something about holding that warm cup of coffee and sitting down away from kids and work and all the things on my phone to catch up with a girlfriend. And there’s nothing I love more than beautiful products that make getting together with friends even easier.
Honestly, I have lots of excuses about why I don’t have time to make time for friends. But God doesn’t call us to live life alone – He calls us to community, and He understands that it’s hard work. So this year I’ve been trying to make getting together with friends a priority – but not a performance. It’s not about an agenda, a fancy meal or elaborate plans.
It’s pizza and laughter. It’s coffee at Panera and bagels. It’s Voxer messages full of hilarious emojis at the end of a long day of motherhood. It’s simply friendship – on purpose.
And (in)courage happens to have a beautiful new line of “friendship on purpose” items at DaySpring to help make it a little easier for all of us. Write a quick note to let a friend know you’re thinking of them. Invite friends over for tea. Grab matching friendship bracelets to remind you of one another, no matter how far apart you might be.
DaySpring wants to make sure that one of you has everything you need to get together with friends! Enter today for a chance to win your choice of a custom (in)courage blend of tea, a loose-leaf tea strainer, and two tea cups & saucers (you choose the design!). Just follow the giveaway instructions in the widget to enter!

I have the “two women met for coffee” mug (actually, two of them because coffee – or tea! – is better with friends!) on my wish list. LOVE that mug! As far as tea flavors go, probably friendship fruit, though I wouldn’t turn down any of them! 🙂 Hugs, friend…I miss you.
