It’s been a fun week around here, with a blog redesign, a video, and some family craziness. It’s nice to get to Friday and be able to share some happy stuff! Speaking of videos, if you want to ask me a question for a future “asked & answered” post, I’ve added a button & link in my sidebar, so you can just click on into the form! And this time I promise I a) will know when you’ve filled it out and b) won’t lose your questions.
Read
Compassionย Blogger Posts – I’m loving following along as Bri, Holley, Lisa, Bonnie & Ruth are in the DR this week, but this post by Bri really got me this week as she find hope in a heartbreaking experience. You can read all the posts here, and if you’d like to sponsor a child from the DR through Compassion (which I highly recommend!) you can do that here.
Amazon Smile – Did you know that your purchases on Amazon could benefit a charity like Compassion International? Through the Amazon Smile program, Amazon will donate 0.5% of each eligible purchase to a cause near and dear to your heart. I have mine set up, of course, for Compassion – and you can do the same here. Ok, so it’s not really a “read” this week, but I read about it and signed up! So it counts, right?
A Sense of the Resurrection – this amazing ebook by my friend Amanda is the perfect tool to help prepare your little one’s heart for Easter. Just like her fabulous “Truth in the Tinsel” Christmas activities, every story, craft, and lesson are created to bring the story of Jesus to life in a way that even my three year old can understand. Grab your copy here!
Watch
I can’t stop laughing at this video I saw on the MomSmack Facebook page – it’s super short, but worth watching several times.
And this one? Don’t ask why it made me all teary, but there is something real about that Disney magic (and how fun is this? And who knew Mickey had those dance moves?)
I’ll definitely be watching the Oscars this Sunday – not because I really care who wins (I saw one movie in the theaters last year. One.) but because I love NPH and the fashion and the glamour of it all. And usually someone hilarious live tweets the whole thing and makes me happy.
Wear
My friend Jennifer Dukes Lee asked me a super fun question about how I do my hair, so I thought it would be fun to show you! It starts, honestly, with a great hair cut, and then takes me less than five minutes in the morning. Here’s a little video, followed by links {affiliate} to the tools I use. You can totally tell a huge difference between the “before” and “after” can’t you? Snort.
- Jason Shampoo & Conditioner
- Arrojo Wave Mist
- Pixie Playย
- Beach Chic (interchangable with the Wave Mist)
- Mini Hair Straightener (similar to mine)
Listen
If you have littles in your home you’ll know that Miles from Tomorrowland is the new big show on Disney Junior. Which also means that I have fallen asleep many a night with the song (very catchy song, at that) in my head, and my husband is constantly whistling the tune. Written, produced & performed by Beau Black, it’s on ALL the time at our house. You can head to this site to watch a little video of just the theme song & show intro.

So that’s it for the week! Would love to hear about your favorites ๐ And do you want me to do the link-up again next week? Will you share an Instagram or blog post of your favorites from the month if I do? Let me know!
I’ve never heard of Pixie Play, but I’m totally going to check that out. I use Got2b pomade. I like it but I like changing products because I think my skin/hair gets used to a product & renders it useless. That’s probably not scientifically sound ๐ I also just joined Amazon Smile a couple of days ago! I’m doing World Vision because that’s where my child sponsorship is.
Ha! I totally feel that way too ๐ I switch shampoo all the time because I think my hair gets used to it – so that makes 2 of us which pretty much does make it scientifically sound ๐
Oh my goodness! Watched your video at least 5 times! You are so awesome! Love your Friday favorites. It’s thise kind of posts where you can take a deep breath and exhale and know you can just breath, if even for a moment, and forget the weight the world is carrying right now. Inside our walls and across the sea. Thank you for that! Oh and Bri’s post? Had me all undone. Took me a few times reading to get through it. Because tears give me migraines I had to shut the waterworks…
So please do the weekly Friday’s?? For the love of my sanity… wait I know it’s not just for me. So yeah, whatever you decide I’m good with and all there. ๐
I love that so much , Shelly ๐ And no worries, Friday Favorites is here to stay for awhile – and I’ll probably do the link up next week, so if you have a favorite you want to share, be sure to come back and post it!
That’s so funny because I’ve totally watched it more than once now too ๐ it’s addictive
Love that video…you are awesome. ๐ Pixie Play is a recent discovery for me, but I like it. I go between that and the other (way too expensive) product I use…Aquage. Have you heard of it? I like it because it’s reactivated by water and my hair doesn’t get flaky if I go…ahem…a few days without washing it. ๐ Golly, I confessed a lot there, didn’t I? Hope you have a great weekend, my friend. (And yes to the link-up…I’m already writing it in my head!) ๐
Ooh no, I don’t know about Aquage – going to look it up now!
