Happy Friday! Hope you’ve had a wonderful week, friends. I’d love to hear about it if you want to chat in the comments 🙂 And I’m getting ready to head out of town for 2 days next week, so forgive me for not having a link-up? But if you link to your post in a comment I do really want to come check them out!
There are affiliate links included in some of the favorites listed below, but clicking on them is no additional cost or work for you. If you’re reading in an email you might need to click over to view this post on the blog to get all the links (I’ve got a snazzy Amazon widgety thing that removes the affiliate links before it ends up in your inbox, because I’m a rule follower).
Here we go!
Read
2015 Better Homes & Gardens Bloggers – Just need to give a shout-out to my girl Melissa for making this list two years in a row. I mean, we all know she’s awesome – glad to see the rest of the internet agrees 😉
Horton Hears a Who – Pop Up – We received this book this week and it has already become our “go to” for bedtime. Madi loves the story of Horton and it has been so fun to watch her enter the fascinating world of Dr. Seuss through this beautifully designed pop-up book.
The World Needs More Love Letters – Y’all. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I adore this book. Which really isn’t a book at all, but a book filled with pages of stationary that you can fold up into an envelope! Letter and envelop in ONE! It’s genius and beautiful and I can’t believe I didn’t already own it.
DIY Type – Ok so again, I’m not technically “reading” this because it’s a book full of stencils. And I adore it. And I want to font stencil ALL THE THINGS.
Franklin Barbecue – “It’s not a cookbook. It’s a manifesto.” Words my husband said to me as I came to bed and found him reading this one intently. It helps that we’ve loved watching Aaron Franklin on various food/cooking shows over the years, and his Austin restaurant has long been on our list of places we must eat at one day. If you need a good Father’s Day gift, this one is going to be a winner. And if Matt chooses to put some of the “manifesto” to practice? Well. We all win, then 😉
Watch
Pie Face – watching this father & son laugh hysterically while they’re playing this game made my whole day. Also, this kind of game ranks up there with “Operation” as the worst thing you could ever ask me to play.
Bride by Design – I love a good bridal show. I really do. I love when they find the right dress, I love when they try on an awful dress. I just love how much hope and joy is involved in the whole process. This new show on TLC is simply the most delightful version of the bridal dress shopping show I’ve seen in a very long time. Heidi Elnora is so fun and creative, and I simply adore her concept of either creating a custom dress for a bride OR having them mix & match to create a dress from her Build a Bride collection. I SO would have done the Build a Bride thing when I got married if I could have (and if my budget had afforded it).
Wear
Serve One Another shirt – Y’all. I don’t know if you saw my post this week, but I designed a shirt. I kind of love it a lot. And I’d really like to make sure it gets printed & into the hands of those of you who so very kindly already reserved yours. If you haven’t purchased one yet (yep, even I bought my own shirt!), you can do that here – or if you have, would you consider sharing? You only have until May 5th before the campaign closes! Personally I think it would be a lovely Mother’s Day gift for all those mama’s who serve their families so faithfully with love. And the bonus? The profits will go to help us continue to support our Compassion child!
Listen
Finding Neverland – I have always, always loved Broadway musicals. And every time I hear one of the songs from this Finding Neverland: The Musical performed on morning television I am ENTHRALLED. Related: I would love to see this one (hint to anyone who can make that happen) and there is apparently some compilation album of the songs coming soon that features John Legend and Matthew Morrison. Sign me up. Happiness.
There was also a song I heard on the radio that I loved but it’s … um… not family friendly so I’m not going to post it. Let’s just say I was on my way to Zumba and was into the groove and ignoring the lyrics {grin}.
So what are you loving this week? This month? Any favorites I need to check out?
xoxo

This week, I am LOVING your very own series on 30 Days to Awesome Social Media Art! It is helping me tremendously with images for my blog and FB community. THANK YOU!
I am also loving Parenting the QBQ Way, by John G Miller and his wife, Karen G Miller. I am learning that raising accountable kids means being an accountable parent! Gulp… while hard to recognize my own need for growth, I am THANKFUL that God uses parenting to GROW me!
I cannot wait to check out some of the resources you listed, especially The World Needs More Love Letters! What an awesome idea! Thanks again!
