I think my favorite thing about this week has honestly been the weather. Y’all. We have had sunshine. Warm days. Windows open! Glory. Give this girl a cup of coffee, a good book, and a sunny spot and I’m the happiest of happy campers. It even made that ridiculous time change situation better, and it takes a lot to get over losing an hour!
On to the favorites! (yep…some affiliate links included..you know the drill..)
Read
Lizzy & Jane – I picked this up at Barnes & Noble last weekend when I was visiting my sister. It had been recommended to me by some friends, and I couldn’t say no to the 50% off price tag ๐ I couldn’t put it down, and it was so, so wonderful to get absolutely lost in a good fiction book. Plus, the author is darling and replied to my tweet to let me know the ebook version of her other book, Dear Mr. Knightly, is on sale. I love the internet!
Savor – This one is Shauna Niequist’s new 365 day devotional and it is just absolutely lovely (and I got it at B&N before the release date, which felt like a fun little win!). The cover has this wonderful texture, each daily devotion is short but thoughtful and thought-provoking, and – my favorite part – she includes recipes throughout! I heard her say on the Relevant podcast that she feels strongly that our Christian lives aren’t made up of the time we spend in books, but in the time we spend around the table (completely paraphrased and hopefully I didn’t butcher that). I happen to love that, and can’t wait to see if she has a recipe or two in here that we can bring when we meet with friends from church this weekend!
Watch
Survivor – I remember watching the very first season of Survivor but haven’t really gotten into it recently. It’s hard to find something new and interesting about another group of people stuck on another island not eating, not getting along, and not wearing a lot of clothing. For some reason, though, this new “white collar/blue collar/no collar” season has me intrigued and I spent a bit of time this week catching up on the three latest episodes. Not sure if I’ll stick it out to the end, but it’s been entertaining so far!
Once Upon a Time – I know that a lot of people are huge fans of this show. I’m more of a fair-weather viewer myself, and happen to love that the new season has started with some fabulous villains. I have no idea what happened last season (I might go back and catch up, we’ll see) but right now? I’m LOVING Cruella De Vil – she’s never been one of my favorite Disney characters, so it’s fun to see her in a modern format with some ridiculously fabulous hair ๐
Wear
Jacob’s Scarves – Blanket Scarf
I love to follow companies on Instagram that are cause related, like Sevenly, Elegantees {psst….I have a free shipping code for you in the sidebar of my blog}, Noonday, and Work of Worth. I’d been following Jacob’s Scarves for awhile before I connected with Kiri via email and realized that we share a passion for education and the importance it plays in a child’s life. My husband and sister are both public school teachers, so Jacob’s Scarves could not have been a more perfect fit – beautiful scarves (which I love), cause related (50% of every purchase goes to the students), and focused on education? WINNING. And this blanket scarf is amazing! Incredibly soft, beautifully woven in gorgeous colors that will transition beautifully to spring, and super versatile (and on trend!), you can’t go wrong. And it’s only $30!
I’d say it’s my new favorite, but I promised it to my sister in exchange for the editing work she’s done on my Creative Basics course ๐ I guess I can visit it occasionally.
I received the blanket scarf in exchange for an honest review – opinions are completely my own. Go buy yourself a scarf from this awesome company!
Listen
Declare Conference Podcast – I love that the gals at the Declare Conference do a special podcast leading up to the conference. And I love even more that my friend Heather is the host, and that she keeps inviting me to come back and record with her, even though we both know I’m a ridiculous mess when it comes to podcasts and pretty much only good for bloopers. Well. If you like bloopers, some crazy technical issues that resulted in robotic sounds, and me talking about social media, graphics, the conference, learning about swim dresses and a bunch of other randomness that probably didn’t make it into the final version, you can listen to it here.

So that’s it for this week! What have I missed? Anything I should check out for next week? Leave a comment and let me know!
I love OUAT! Last season there’s a lot of Frozen and Emma coming into her powers. The new villains sure look fabulous, and all they want are happy endings. Really, who can blame them for that?
Dear Mr. KNIGHTLEY is very good. I want to find the devotional . Scarf is beautiful. Love your Friday posts.
Thanks for the book recommendations! I need some good fiction in my life right about now. Happy Friday to you!
It seems so much harder to find great fiction lately, right? If you find any good ones, let me know!
