Tell me. What is it you would do if nothing would stop you? What is it you would say, believe, chase, dream, achieve? What is that lives down deep in your heart, that little piece of you that lights up with a holy passion when confronted with a project, cause, or need? What is that thing you’re too afraid to say out loud because then it will be real?
I shared earlier this week about a moment at Declare that nearly went untold. And yet – in the telling? In the sharing of my heart, my fears, my dreams – the enemy lost any hold he had over them.
Shattered.
And where I expected judgement or worry there was love. The kind of love that listens to you share bits and pieces of an unfinished, imperfect, dream and simply says “yes.” It’s happened over and over and over again this week, the freedom that comes with sharing what God is doing in my heart.
It’s in the telling of my story, my dreams, my experiences that God receives the glory. So that’s what I’ll do with my one wild & precious life. Tell me – what will you do with yours?
I’m linking up with Kate Motaung tonight for Five Minute Friday. I just know you’ll be blessed if you click over & read the words of the other amazing writers who also linked up. I’ll be honest – tonight’s words were hard to find. I’ve used so many words in the last few days. But sometimes? You’ve just got to do it anyway.
Oh Crystal, I needed these words TODAY. Thank you. God is glorified in the telling and the devil loses power over us…that is what I want to do with my life. Be unafraid to share stories and speak the truth that brings freedom. 🙂
“It’s in the telling of my story, my dreams, my experiences that God receives the glory.” So very true!
‘the enemy lost any hold he had over them.’ If we could just remember that God has given us the power and authority to unlock the chains that bind us up. Thank you for reminding me cause I tend to forget it so many times
So true. I am learning there is so much power in the telling of our stories, even if it is a little scary sometimes!
Yes! In the telling God gets the glory. Love that, Crystal. Thanks for encouraging us to say the words out loud.
There is such power in the telling! Your words ring true and encourage me to keep being faithful, because it’s through each simple act of obedience, trust, letting go, tell that He receives the glory. Great words – Thank you
Oh Crystal there’s not a thing you don’t write that I don’t like. This post has inspired me to dream again, but not to just stop at the dream, but to tell others and in that giving God the glory in the wild and precious life of mine 🙂
This post reminds me of Lysa’s book – “The Best Yes”! I’ve literally been thinking right along the same lines this week. You are the third 5 Minute Friday blogger to mention Declare. I’m fairly new to blogging and just entering the world of public speaking. I need all of the resources I can get! Love your post!
So happy we are neighbors this week. I am spending my one wild and precious life at the ends of the earth for God, building dreams and using words to remind my sisters of how deeply they are loved. Thanks for an extra dose of brave at the end of a hard, lonely week.
I love the quote you had at the top of your blog. Thanks for sharing. Love really is the most powerful thing on earth and in heaven. Bless you.
That’s a very challenging question. I think too much about what stops me – and not enough about the One who makes things possible. Thank you for the reminder that it is God who will receive the glory, God who will make it possible, even when I think it impossible.
I don’t know what I will do with my one wild and precious life. But you’ve given me a little bit of brave–enough to start finding out. 🙂
