GO:
It’s in the ordinary moments that I find myself captivated by the community that God has built around me. The moments that require no special outfits, no tickets, no airfare or luggage. It’s the small moments that touch my heart and bring me to my knees in thanks.
Playing in the leaves on a beautiful fall morning.
An email from a friend with an encouraging word.
A conversation with my husband where he says that his “God Sized Dream?” It’s to do whatever he can to make sure I can chase what God has put before me.
A late night conversation about cupcakes and how crazy this online community building life can become.
Ordinary? Yes.
Small and insignificant? Not at all.
There is something so beautifully normal about the little moments that occur naturally, without planning or force or to-do-list apps. It’s in these moments that I feel most myself, that I walk more confidently into community or onto the next task God has for me because I feel like THIS is where I’m myself. Ordinary but not small. Sitting low on the ground to capture the moments, at the foot of the cross to receive what God has for me.

Speaking of community (and this one, yes, has taken a bit of planning), if you’re going to Allume and happen to be an (in)courager (mentor, leader, member, or interested in learning more about our community groups) you can sign up to attend our meet-up here:ย https://incouragers.eventbrite.com/
If you’re a Five Minute Friday gal (veteran, newbie, or have no idea what this is but you’ll be there and want to try this whole “writing unedited for five minutes” thing), you can sign up to join that meet-up here:ย https://fiveminutefriday.eventbrite.com/

I love the ordinary because without ordinary then we would not have extra – ordinary. Thanks for reminding us that it is all God’s plan.

“Ordinary but not small. Sitting low on the ground to capture the
moments, at the foot of the cross to receive what God has for me.” I love this. My heart is saying, yes, me, too! Capturing moments is the best way I know how to receive each blessing big or small from the Lord’s gracious hands to mine.
…And I’m going to ALLUME!! I’m a newbie who can’t wait to experience each gift God has waiting for us to unwrap. Hope to meet you there and give you a big FMF sister hug! ๐

So happy to have places where I can be myself, where I don’t worry about whether “myself” will be accepted. Those communities where others can see past what may seem ordinary to know my heart and love me because that I’m anything but.

I am learning to fully embrace those everyday, ordinary moments. That is when God can fully open our eyes to see all the goodness and beauty that He has created. Love reading your words this morning.

“Ordinary but not small.” It is truly the day to day that brings me to my knees too and brings me the most delight. I’m so thankful for the FMF community and support. You rock my friend and although somethings seem small we are all BIG because of HIM..sending hugs
