Today’s prompt: Dive
GO
You know that dream you have? The one that makes you weak in the knees and sweaty in uncomfortable places when you think about maybe/possibly/someday talking about it?
Dive in,sister.
Speak it out loud to someone – heck, speak it out loud to the computer screen as you read this post! Say it in your own words the desire God has put on your heart.
It’s not silly. I can promise we won’t laugh. We’ll cheer and pray and support and love it with you every step of the way. There are no silly dreams here.
Just don’t be afraid to dive in. If you need to dip a toe in first to make sure the water is safe, go for it. Sometimes the small steps are the hardest but the most rewarding. And when you have to find those tiny little moments in the midst of your crazy day of being you – wife, mom, coworker, friend, sister, daughter, social media maven, bread winner – to take another step?
Dive in to those moments with everything you have.
I’m talking canonballs, forward flips, handstands.
Give it all you’ve got, even if it’s only 5 minutes on an early early early Friday morning, to take another step toward that dream.
It might not always be successful, and sometimes you’ll need to call a “mulligan” and start fresh, but remember this – even the tiny steps are moving you forward, at exactly the pace God has planned for your dream.
So this weekend? Let’s dive in 🙂
STOP
Want to join or just want to know what Five Minute Friday is all about? Head over to Lisa Jo’s blog and find out 🙂 And while you’re there, be sure to visit & leave some comment love (no lurking!) for the other bloggers who linked up!
Oh Mary, thank you for stopping by! Praying bravery over you today 🙂
Thank you so much 🙂
Yes! Praying for you as you jump in – that’s so awesome!
I love this comment so much 🙂 Praying for you as you wait on God to reveal His plans for you. I know they will be amazing. You naturally draw people to you, whatever it is God has planned, you will do it extraordinarily well.
So glad you stopped by Amy!
Haha oh goodness…”preach” makes me laugh. I loved that. Glad I could offer the hug, pep talk, and “talking to” (we say that in PA too…I guess us “southern PA” gals have adopted a few phrases)…hopefully it was offered over a glass of sweet tea? And aren’t you sweet for sharing it, thank you!
One step at a time, that’s all it takes 🙂 Today, inch a little closer to the edge. Tomorrow, dip a toe. In God’s timing, jump on in!
I am so thankful that our paths cross in so many ways now 🙂 I love seeing your smiling face on my screen throughout the day!
Oh I’m so excited for you! Father, bless this newly spoken dream, may it grow in Your time, on Your path, with Your blessing.
Oh thank you so much! I’ve found that when I write at midnight, it’s all God …otherwise the whole thing would be….”yawn…..blink……yawn….snuggle….”
I can promise you I’m more of a belly-flop kind of girl…diving has never been my thing…but for you? Grab a hand, sister, we’re going in! (and I firmly believe that you can and will make major strides in your God Sized Dream this year. No doubts at all!)
Amen sister – grace is what I need every day when I’ve only stepped near the water but haven’t even touched it 🙂 It’s not easy, but it’s worth it (I have to keep telling myself that!)
Woohoo!! That’s awesome Libby! Can’t wait to read all about it 🙂
This is a beautiful post. So blessed to have found your blog!
Ashley from http://theheartofashley.blogspot.com
I’m in! Seriously, I dove and wrote something FINALLY today. Dipping my toe in most definitely!
Thank you for sharing these words about the DIVE word. I am truly excited about what this year will bring.
You make it sound so easy 🙂
I’m with you. Thanks for encouraging me along….and you know what? Today is drenched in grace. I’m with you, I’m going swimming! 😉
This was the perfect post for you to write. You are such an amazing encourager and you have this amazing ability to make people believe (because it is true) that they really can tackle these God-sized dreams. Beautiful friend! Let’s dive!
Yes and yes and yes! Let’s all dive right in to those God-sized dreams and chase those kites together! Loved the encouraging spirit you wrote with.
Thank you for permission to actually say it aloud, because I’ve had it tucked inside of me, too afraid to expose it to the light, afraid that I’ve got it all wrong. Thank you for watering the seed that’s been planted in my heart for a while. I am so excited (surely I could use a better word than that!) to see what will grow!
Love this encouragement, Crystal!! It’s perfect for us who are dreaming the God-Sized dreams He’s given to us. Thank you…
Wonderful! So much encouragement here — Diving in…. I’m still at the jumping off stage but you never know what can happen tomorrow! Bless you girl 🙂
Preach! Um, I mean, thank you for sharing this awesomely encouraging post. 🙂
I needed to read this. I feel like I’ve just simultaneously gotten a pep talk, a hug, and a really good “talking to”, as we say here in the South. I’ve even shared this on my Facebook wall because I know a few people who may need to read this as well.
So glad I participated in Lisa-Jo’s wonderful Five Minute Friday!
Blessings,
Anna K.
“even the tiny steps are moving you forward” Loved that, Crystal. Thanks!
Mmm. mmm, mmm, girl! You just called out everybody on the interwebs, didn’t you? You’ve got your pom poms out and a cute kicky skirt on being your amazing incouraging self. Now, what exactly is that dream I’m supposed to be diving into? (le sigh) BTW – your place is almost as beautiful as you are. This looks great.
Ooh! Thank you so much for this encouraging post! I just got through a “toe-dipping” period (thanks for the permission do do that!), and now I’m diving head first into a dream I believe God has given me. It is thrilling and exciting!
yes, putting the fear aside–that’s so much a part of it, isn’t it?
loved your enthusiasm here. contagious! 🙂
blessings,
steph
Heading over to read yours now, Becky 🙂
Oh Chelle, thank you so much for those sweet words! It makes the diving so much easier when we know we have a sister there to hold our hand through the scary parts 🙂
heading over to read yours now!
what beautiful words, thank you!
Can NOT wait to send you encouraging words as you pack those bags to dive into your dream 🙂 or when you create blogging gloves…you know…whichever comes first 😉

Amen!!! “I’m talking canonballs, forward flips, handstands. Give it all you’ve got, even if it’s only 5 minutes on an early early early Friday morning, to take another step toward that dream.” So THAT is what I am doing up still!? Give it all you’re got – even if… (fill in the blank!) – I LOVE this… and I needed it too! (Fun chatting a bit tonight on Twitter!) and now you know at the end I am saying: ” #NotJoking #ReallyIMeanIt #IHopeYouFindYourselfHashtaggingOutLoudInRealLifeNow #AtLeastSometimes
Oh yes, You are an incourager, even without cupcakes. Your words are a treat for anyone who has every doubted… which is ummmm everyone. Thank you, friend. Dreaming big with you.
May our dreams reflect His more and more daily….and may the splash of our dives drench the world….:) Good stuff.
This is beautiful Crystal. What an encouraging post. I need to be brave enough to dive in….thank you for this.
Hello FMF neighbor. I am so encouraged by your post. Just look at mine and you’ll see that I needed some urging to dive in. Thank you for your post.
Oh, sister (in)courager dreamer, so well said. I have absolutely learned in the past few weeks that “I can promise we won’t laugh. We’ll cheer and pray and support and love it with you every step of the way. There are no silly dreams here. ” There are only wonderfully transparent sincere sisters leading with their hearts and their faith, knowing even when we can’t see our way, He does.
To God Be The Glory.
Peace and good,
Love reading this right after writing mine! It seems to be an affirmation of exactly what I was thinking! Thank you.
