Time Management Tip: Prioritize your to-do list
Yesterday we took all those thoughts and ideas in our heads captive and put them on paper (don’t forget to update that list & do it again today). This time though, we’re going to look back at the goals we’ve set for ourselves and prioritize that to-do list accordingly. What is it on your list that will help you accomplish your goal for today? What do you need to work on later to accomplish your weekly goal? And what on the list is a longer term item that will help you get to that monthly goal? Are there items that you must do today, and others that you can set aside to work on if you have extra time? It might feel like everything you’re trying to balance is urgent, but I promise that it’s not. Whether you color-code, number, alphabetize, or find some other unique way to sort your list, be the boss of your to-do list today so you can work hard in the time you have available. Then, when that time is over, close your laptop, shut your office door, and focus on loving the people God has put in front of you as you give them the best gift of all – your attention and presence.
