Time Management Tip: Stop multi-tasking
When I was younger I used to be able to watch television, work on a project, and have a conversation with a friend – all at the same time. I prided myself on my multi-tasking skills and my ability to get a lot of work done in a short amount of time. What I didn’t realize was that I was living a life of quantity instead of quality. No one task ever received the amount of attention it deserved to be done with excellence, but they were done efficiently. Now when I try to multi-task, I just feel scattered, like I’m constantly starting projects and never really finishing them. I bounce around and lack focus, accomplishing very little by the end of the day. Today, give yourself permission to tackle just one thing at a time. Choose quality over quantity and see how much more you can actually get done – from start to finish – when you stop trying to do it all, especially at the same time.

This book was part of the inspiration for “Holy Hustle.” When I first read it I realized that there were other women like me who wanted to use their gifts for God’s glory, and the 31 prayers in this book helped me to start my day intentionally and with focus. I had the chance to share a little of that story with Jenn at the Declare Conference and just spending a few minutes with her motivated me to boldly pursue what God has planned for me.
