Some bloggers give you amazing links for cute outfits they like (I’m looking at you, Melanie, and your ability to make me want all the things in your Friday posts!). Some bloggers do a great weekly recap of “the best of the web” (I think Ann’s is my favorite – such inspiration!). Me? Well. I apparently just wait until I have enough random bits and pieces to throw together. A “what I’m loving” post around here is less structured and more “a la carte.”
It’s how I roll.
1. Let’s All Be Brave – Annie Downs {<–affiliate link}
Y’all. I took this book with me on vacation a few weeks ago and absolutely adored every minute of it. Annie is a gifted storyteller, an amazing woman of God, and this book? It made me uncomfortable. It made me dream big scary dreams again, just when I thought maybe God had given me my “one thing” and it was time to just settle in. Poor Annie was so delightfully kind when I kept emailing her how much I loved it all and kept tweeting my favorite parts. If I would have had a highlighter, my copy would be glowing. But – um – I don’t generally pack highlighters to go to the beach. If you’re looking for a book you won’t be able to put down and a message that might just change your life, head over and pre-order this one right now. {Plus, she’s giving away some super amazing stuff if you pre-order. Generous heart.}
2. Zonderkidz NIrV Adventure Bible for Early Readers {<–affiliate link}
I 100% judge a book by it’s cover, and I knew this one was going to be a winner when my 2 year old saw and immediately said “mine, mommy?” You know it, kiddo. This Bible is such a fun way to introduce early readers to scripture. Each chapter is filled with full-color “Did You Know,” “People in Bible Times,” and “Live It!” notes for easy application and understanding. At the very center of the Bible are several full color pages, including “10 Commandments for Kids,” “Bible Themes,” and “Famous Old Testament Prophets.” Each chapter starts with beautiful illustrations and an explanation of who wrote the book, why, for whom, and important teachings. It’s a Bible that I’ll be excited to read to my daughter because it’s not a cheesy kid’s version, and I’ve actually grabbed it quickly to use as a reference when my Bible was in another room! This is a Bible that will grow with my kiddo and keep her interested in God’s Word for years. {received a free version to review, opinions are totes my own.}
I’m beyond excited to be a speaker and lab presenter at Declare this year! If you’re looking for a conference that will encourage, equip & inspire you as a blogger, this is it. You’ll get to meet some of your favorite online friends in real life, and I’ll be sharing about building authentic online community. If you have anything you’d like me to cover, would you let me know in the comments? I usually share my talks here after the event, so even if you aren’t able to make it I’ll be sure to share some key take-aways for you! And I’ll be teaching a lab on creating blog graphics, so let me know what questions you have for that one, too!
This is quite possibly the most fun thing I’ve done online in a long time. Emmy and a group of wonderful handmade shop owners are hosting an adoption fundraiser and have invited us to register, receive a gorgeous shirt, and spend the next week or so playing logic problems and solving a very Clue-like puzzle to figure out “who dunnit.” It makes me so happy. Each day there are prizes for the first person to correctly answer the logic problem (I keep answering correctly but too slowly!) and a grand prize worth over $500 at the end!
So those are my favorites lately – what are you loving?
Adding “Let’s All Be Brave” to my to-read list…sounds like a book that would be great for me right now. Thanks for sharing!
