Read: Matthew 1:18-25
We’re going to tackle today’s reading a little differently. I have done dozens of Bible studies since I was first introduced to them, and I love all the different ways we can dig into Scripture. I love studies with video teaching and lengthy homework. I love studies that leave you to navigate God’s Word on your own. I love group studies and studies done by myself. I love learning how God has worked in the life of the author and I love when the author leaves us to hear what God wants to do in our own lives.
That’s what we’re going to do today. Between this blog and my book and the other books, podcasts, magazines, and speaking events I’ve been a part of, you can learn a lot about me, and what God has done in my life. Today it’s your turn – just you and God. No story of my own to sway your perception of this passage of Scripture.
But some questions to get you started:
- How does this Scripture compare with what we read yesterday in Luke? List the similarities and differences.
- Take some time to learn more about this book of the Bible. Who wrote it? When was it written? What are the themes?
- How would you paraphrase (rewrite in your own words) today’s Scripture?
Happy reading, my friends.
