Faith
Influence Network – Accountability and community are incredibly important to me when it comes to my faith, my ministry, and fitness. I love that the Influence Network brings together the smartest, most creative, most encouraging women on the internet and gives women a chance to connect & learn from one another. You’ll definitely want to join now so you don’t miss any of the exciting plans they have for 2016!
Raising Generations Today – While you’re reading this post, I’m in Rochester speaking & encouraging working mamas at the Raising Generations Today conference. Nothing gets me deeper in the Word or more persistent in prayer than a speaking engagement, and I really love to do them (looking for a speaker for your next event? Head here!) Here’s what we’ll be chatting about in “The Worth of Work”:
In this session, I will offer a special encouragement to working moms and celebrate the worth of the work we’re called to do. Together we’ll declare that there is no such thing as a perfect balance or “doing it all,” but there is grace for those days when we question our calling. Let’s lean into the legacy of work we’re leaving our little ones and celebrate the unique opportunities we have to impact not only our children’s lives, but the lives of our co-workers, for the Kingdom of God.
Fitness
Fitbit – If you don’t have a fitness tracker yet, I really like the Fitbit Charge. Now, to be honest, I would absolutely upgrade mine to the Charge HR if I could afford it, and I do really wish they were prettier. But the Charge does a great job tracking steps, workouts, and – if you care about it – sleep habits. The heart-rate addition (the “HR” part of the Charge HR) definitely gives you a more accurate view of calories burned during a workout, but if your goal is just to hold yourself accountable to moving more, than you can’t go wrong with any of them!
Shakeology – I’m going to be totally honest with you. Shakeology was one of the reasons I almost didn’t do 21 Day Fix in March. It’s crazy expensive and I had no idea why anyone would want to pay that much for a shake. But I’m all about trying new things and figured I could a) cancel it if I hated it and b) it didn’t hurt that there was a 30 day money back guarantee if it was just a flat out failure. Well, it’s been 7 months and not only am I still loving my vegan chocolate Shakeology, my husband is now drinking it. Listen, I still think it’s crazy expensive, but I know how I feel when I drink it and the difference it’s made for me. And if you sign up to be a Beachbody coach you get a significant discount on your Shakeology, which is a huge bonus. If you don’t want to commit to a huge bag of a shake you’ve never tried before, I suggest starting with the super sampler – you’ll get one of each flavor (y’all! they’re coming out with a cafe latte flavor! yay!) so you can see which one you like before you buy!
Thrive Market – Maybe you live in a small town like I do, and fancy stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joes just don’t exist within a 2 hour drive. Or maybe you just like to order your groceries online, or you’re a bargain shopper who loves a good deal. You’re going to love Thrive Market. It’s online grocery shopping for all your healthy food & home items, at prices you won’t find in your local grocery store. I love ordering my PB2 from Thrive Market and have found great deals on shampoo, beef jerky (it’s ridiculous how expensive that is) and protein bars. Plus, it’s a great way to try some new items I never would have purchased in my normal grocery shopping, and I can be happy knowing they’re good for my whole family. You can sign up here to try Thrive Market & get 25% off your first order and free shipping on orders over $49!
