Last month I found out that I was selected to host a #disneyside princess party, courtesy of Maria Bailey and the MomSelect team. After a few weeks a box of Disney magic showed up on our front porch, packed full of pixie dust and everything you could possibly need to throw the perfect princess party.
But since one little girl doesn’t need to have all that princess awesomeness to herself, and we’re trying to teach Madi that sharing is important, I decided to see if her daycare would like to have a “pirates and princesses” Valentine’s Day party – featuring Jake & The Neverland Pirates and Sophia the First! I was so glad they said yes, and went to Oriental Trading to stock up on some extras for the boys. Our box came with all the decorations, plates, napkins, games, and party favors the girls could want – but since her class is primarily boys, we needed to add a little pirate fun!

We put together goodie bags for the girls with princess crowns, nail polish, lip gloss, barrettes, and more – all courtesy of the wonderful team at Disney Side @Home Celebrations. For the boys we grabbed eye patches, stickers, pencils and Pirate Booty snacks!
Madi’s favorite part was making the Mickey Mouse tie-dye cake with Matt while I was at Zumba – and even the teachers raved about how great it was when we picked everything up! There wasn’t even an ear left for us to try (though I was seriously tempted to snack when it was in our fridge overnight!) so I think we’ll be buying another box of Duff cake mix to make more.
It’s been so fun this year to watch Madi’s love for Disney develop, and being able to share all of these wonderful treats with her friends at school made her Valentine’s Day that much sweeter. And I’m excited to have found some great new products that we’ll be sure to purchase again on our next shopping trip, like Twinnings tea!
I think I see a princess tea party in our future!
A big thank you to my friend Heidi for taking all of these photos, and to all of Madi’s teachers for making every day special for her at school!
All of the princess party supplies were sent to me free of charge in exchange for a #disneyside celebration – all the opinions about how amazing it was and how much fun the kiddos had is all my own. I’m sure they’ll all crash eventually from the sugar rush 😉 For more ideas on how to throw your own Disney Side @Home Celebration, head here!
