An Invitation - crystalstine.me

Nearly every conversation I’ve had over the last several months inevitably comes around to one topic. Community.

Why I build it, what I love about it, how to find it, what to do when it doesn’t work out like you planned. It’s become such a part of my heart and who I am that it’s even taken over this blog. Which is interesting to me, since it’s also the one topic I find it hardest to write about, and yet God keeps asking. God has also put it on my heart to share my knowledge more in this space – lessons learned, attempts failed, how to’s, and FAQs. I’ve been so blessed with friends who have freely poured into my life, and I’m looking forward to seeing how I can pay that forward.

Another thing I’d like to do in this space in 2014 is to take time to introduce new communities in this space, to help you find a place where you feel at home, where you can connect with like-hearted friends. I have a list already in mind that I’m going to use, but I know there are so many, many more wonderful online communities out there.

That’s where you come in. Would you help me? Will you leave a comment with your favorite online communities, especially some I might not already know or talk about in this space? And let me know why you love them, so that next year, together, we can invite others to join us in those spaces!

I love your heart and vision for this new beautiful space you’ve created — place to build and affirm community.

I’m currently leading a modest-sized community of women through the New Testament. We read the same passage of Scripture every day, and we meet on a private Facebook page to share what we’re learning. And we’re about to begin reading through the entire Bible in a year, beginning on January 1st.

It’s the One Year Chronological Bible (NLT), and it’s divided into 365 readings. This will be my fourth year reading through it, and I love it! And it’s been so fun to invite others to join me — we journey together through the pages of Scripture.

Well, these aren’t new to you, but I value the Deeper Story (http://DeeperStory.com) and One Word 365 (http://OneWord365.com) communities.

For those who live and serve overseas: Velvet Ashes (http://velvetashes.com/) and A Life Overseas (http://alifeoverseas.com)

    I’ll keep thinking…

Hello Mornings has been such a blessing to me. It is amazing the amount of sharing & praying for one another that is offered for one another there.

Crytsal, I love the new look and focus of your blog! — I participated in a few online communities this year, and they have really encouraged me and kept me going. My favorite would have to be my Good Morning Girls Facebook Group. Those girls have become like family to me. — Another less known community that I love is The Soli Deo Sisterhood that is hosted by Jen Ferguson at her blog Finding Heaven Today. I have connected with so many amazing women who blog through this community.
