Did you get that? Did you let what your eyes just read sink down deep into the softest parts of your heart, to settle in for awhile and make itself at home? I’m having “one of those days” today. I’m feeling under the weather, overwhelmed, insecure, and uninspired, and this verse (which I’ve ready dozens of times)jumped off the page and burrowed itself right into the little holes and cracks that have been forming lately. Spaces in my heart where anxiety and worry have taken root and pushed aside trust and faith. It’s lonely without them.
God knows how I feel today, and even when I have my grumpiest grumpypants on, or my biggest worries fill my thoughts, He promises not to stop watching over my life. He doesn’t sleep – He doesn’t miss a thing that goes on in my life. Or yours. He knows what kind of day/week/month/year/lifetime you’re having. And our God, who created the world, cares so much about you, and me, that He lovingly watches over us. Today. Tomorrow. Always.
And I feel faith and trust returning, weeding out the fear, filling my heart with comfort and peace. All because we have a watchful, faithful, God.
