I Read Truth – Do You?

Have you seen the Bible study that has taken Twitter and Instagram by storm recently? It’s called SheReadsTruth and what started as one woman’s desire to be in the Word turned into an incredible social media extravaganza that now includes a Facebook page, website, Twitter account and hastag (#shereadstruth). 

I joined as part of my Hellomornings Bible study – it was easy and convenient for me to read at the gym on my iPhone while sometimes quite literally waking up on the stationary bike. The group decided to start with a YouVersion study called Soul Detox. Brief but powerful, this study is changing lives. Mine included. The photos above are just a few of the highlighted/Instagramed photos from the last few weeks. 

More than anything, this SheReadsTruth movement  – and it really is – has made me realize how powerful a group of women with hearts for God really are. One woman asked a question on Twitter and now lives are being changed through time in the Word. Is that all it takes? Just one woman with a heart to follow God and a willingness to let Him move in her life? 

You know what else I’m loving about all of this? No matter how new or updated or fancy or technological we think we are with our blogs/Twitter/Facebook/next new thing….God has a plan for it all. He uses 140 characters or less to change lives. He uses blog posts to share His truth and to bring people together from all over the world in His name. He uses websites to show how we can help eliminate poverty in His name. Is there a lot on the internet that doesn’t glorify Him? Absolutely. But can it be so good and used with intention to reach the unreached in His name? You bet.
