Time Management: Holy Hustle Style

31Days, holy hustle, Time Management

This is my fifth year participating in the Write 31 Days challenge, and my third year hosting it. The community of writers from around the world who gather to tackle this each October – they are some of my favorite people on the internet. They are brave, thoughtful, inspiring, and kind. They are generous with their words and they love their readers deeply. It is an honor to serve them, and to do the hard work of obediently living out this part of my calling alongside them each year.

Because today is Sunday, and the start to this challenge, I just want to give you a little encouragement (you can read more background about why I chose this topic here). Don’t give up on me through this process. Time management sounds intimidating and icky to me – like some kind of business self-help book that is going to tell you that you need to wake up earlier, work harder, and be more productive. That’s not what this is going to be.

We are going to take a look at 29 time management tips & suggestions and look at how we can incorporate them into the work we do for God’s kingdom. How can they help us to work hard and rest well? How much more effectively might we be able to serve our neighbors, communities, and church if we’re able to adopt a few of these ideas into our day-to-day life?

As a woman who loves Jesus and loves to work, I don’t want to be busy – I want to be effective.

Not all of these ideas will be right for you – and that’s ok! I tried to curate a list of ideas that focused on the work we do as women – whether you’re a stay-at-home mom, a work-at-home mom, a work-outside-the-home mom, a creative, a CEO, a writer, a business owner, a teacher, a leader, a wife, or a friend. You have been given the responsibility of leading and influencing SOMEONE, so how can we use the time God has given us to do that work well?

We’ll officially kick-off tomorrow, but be sure to bookmark this page. I’ll add the links to all the posts in this series there for you, and hopefully at the end you’ll also receive a download to keep with you (be sure you’re subscribed to receive emails if you’d like to have that).

Thanks for going on this journey with me. I can’t wait to see what we learn.

I’m looking forward to following this series, Crystal! Your words on this topic have been resonating with me lately. I am so sorry I had to cancel my plans to attend Declare this year — I was so excited after listening to your podcast interview!

I’m excited to read about your time management ideas, because I also value being effective as opposed to busy. Two weeks ago I realized that if I type faster then I can finish my computer work lickity-split! Since then about every day I’ve played a typing game for about 30 minutes. I am already improving! For me, learning to type is a time management idea. Have fun at your conference!

OH, one of my favorite subjects! I tackled Time Management in 2014- and it is my passion- and yes on not being busy…and totally it does not have to be icky! I LOVE the subject because God is truly The Master Planner! SO gooooood! Nice, Crystal. Love Holy Hustle.
