Dear God Sized Dreamers – A Letter For You

Dear God Sized Dreamer –

Sweet sisters, I wish I could invite you over for coffee and cupcakes, to kick off your shoes and get comfy as we talk about our God Sized Dreams. You would have to ignore the trail of cereal you probably squished on your way through the house, and we’ll both just pretend that the dust bunnies aren’t about to attack at any moment.

I want to be able to tell you what I’ve been learning and find out what dream God has put on your heart. I’d tell you that the feeling I’ve had most on this journey? Doubt. From the very beginning, before I even knew what dream God wanted me to pursue, I have doubted.

Why would God give me a dream like that?
Someone else already does it, and does it better.
It’s scary.
I don’t have time.
What if nothing happens?

And then we’d refill our coffee and I’d tell you this.

God does not waste a God Sized Dream. He is faithful to open the doors when He knows we’re ready, and not a moment sooner. All along the way, before you even knew that you had a dream, He was preparing you for where He wants to take you. Be brave, sister. Claim what God has planted in your heart and then stand with hands open. Give it back to God and trust His timing. 

Your dream? We need it. Don’t let the enemy convince you that it’s too small, too hard, already been done, or that you aren’t qualified to do it. You are the best you – and you are the only one who can do what God has planned for your dream because He gave it to you! It might look a lot like someone else’s dream, I know mine does. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pursue it!

Father, be with my sisters, the women pursuing the dreams you’ve placed in our hearts. Prepare us for the journey. Fill us to overflowing with the Holy Spirit and walk with us as we do the brave, scary, uncomfortable work of chasing these dreams. Protect us from the enemy, surround us with encouragers, and may we always remember to kneel before You, hands held open, knowing where these dreams come from, who they belong to, and the love of the One to whom all glory and honor belongs.
