One of my favorite pre-conference routines is to write a “get to know me” post to share with other attendees. And, like always, the Declare Conference gals are SO on it, that they’re hosting a link-up for all of us! Woot! So, whether I’ll be seeing you next week in Texas or not, enjoy these 16 fun facts about yours truly. And feel free to share your own in the comments – I love getting to know y’all better.
I’m practicing my y’alls.
I think the fact that I was shopping for jeggings earlier today might cancel any cowboy-boot-y’all-saying street cred I might have. Just a thought.
4 Things About Me

- I’m married to my high school sweetheart & we’ve been together for 8 years.
- I have little girl who will be 3 in November {side note: she calls mascots “mustaches” and it delights me to no end}.
- I work my dream job as the Editorial & Marketing Manager at (in)courage and I have no idea how to explain that to the person sitting next to me on a plane.
- I have Β faux-hawk and I like when it’s red. It fits my Β “Sassy McGee” personality. Oh and I have an identical twin sister, a bachelors & masters from Villanova University, chocolate is my love language, and I’m obsessed with Zumba, Pound, and Holy Yoga (bonus answers! woot!)
4 Of My Endearing Quirks

- I actually do say “woot” in real life.
- I have never eaten a corndog and I’m ok keeping it that way.
- I will probably unfollow you on social media if you post photos of you feet.
- I have an extensive list of words that make me shiver. Like “moist.” BLECH.
4 Things About My Blog & Writing

- I’ve been blogging since 2009, which makes me like 40 in blog years.
- I pay very little attention to blog rules & write when I feel I have something to say. I have cared about SEO exactly no times since I started my blog {hmmm…maybe that’s why I’m still a small blogger.}
- Everything I know about blogging and social media I learned online from other people who were generous with their knowledge.
- I’ve loved writing ever since my 7th grade language arts teacher said I was good and invited me to be on the school newspaper. Since I’m older than the internet I had no idea my dream job as an editor would happen in the blogging world.
4 Of My Favorite Things

- Coffee. I take mine black. Unless we’re at a great coffee shop in which case I’ll order something ridiculously complicated and sugary. With an extra shot of espresso.
- EOS chapstick – the mint one. Can’t live without it. (affiliate link)
- Noonday jewelry – I love some cause related shopping and they are delightful.
- Naps. I would nap every day if I could. And none of those “power naps” but a good long one. Ahh. Those were the days.
So, there you have it. A little bit about me π
Enjoyed learning about you, Crystal. Love the naps!! And of course the chocolate and coffee. Looking forward to meeting you at Declare.
You are just adorable, Crystal. I know I’m not here often but I see your face frequently and it always makes me smile. I’m loving this Declare Conference linkup and the change to get to know the other attendees better. It makes me even more excited for next week. I will be sure we meet!! Blessings.
FUN! Love the pics. Your girl is just so precious and that face by the chocolate? oh my! BTW – I’ve been in TX for 19 years and still rarely say y’all. I have, however, altered my name for soda from pop. But I don’t drink either so I never really say that either. So, will you be wear boots AND jeggings at Declare?
You know it! Just bought the jeggings today. And maybe a denim vest. And possibly a chambray shirt. I’ll be rocking the denim, if nothing else π
Crystal, what a beautiful family and enjoying getting to hear some 4×4 on you before meeting in person next week. Cannot wait – you are such a joy on social media. I am a marketing gal too – want to bend your ear on that sometime!
That would be awesome π
Such a fun list!!
Naps are my love language…. π We still make the kids nap on Sunday afternoons (they’re 8 and 12) just so WE can get a nap too. Family naps rule. π
See you soon!
That is brilliant π It’s too early to tell right now, but I’m hoping my kiddo inherits my love for naps. She might not have a choice π
Loved this but I posted a pic of my wonky scale last week that included a portion of my feet in it…please don’t unfollow me! π I will remember to keep feet off FB from now on! π
Ha! No worries, girl π It’s actually just when people post gross photos – feet, injuries, rashes..that kind of thing. You’re adorable & I would definitely not unfollow you!
Coffee chocolate date ahead! Yippee! Remember when we skipped at Allume? π It was probably the last session. God has a sense of humor! Right?
And that girl is so darn cute.
xo,
Stacey
Oh gosh – you’re probably right…ha! What are the odds? And one of these days we’ll get my cutie and your gorgeous gals together and break the internet with all the awesome π
Crystal,
I enjoyed meeting you at RGT. I think your faux hawk is adorable and you rock it. Indeed it goes with your spunky personality.
It was fun visiting your blog and learning a bit about you. I look forward to seeing you again in a few short days.
Blessings,
Cherie

Woohoo! Can’t wait π
I love a good, long nap, too! Followed by coffee, of course.
Loved your podcast about Twitter! Now I just need to implement what I learned…
Hope to meet you next week!
Followed by coffee, for SURE!
Just love getting to know other bloggers before Declare through this means. I’ll be posting my entry tomorrow morning and you will see that I’m a coffee lover as well. Looking forward to meeting you. Your little girl is so cute!
Can’t wait to go read everyone’s posts – it’s on my “to do list” tomorrow while my kiddo naps..assuming I don’t join her π
What a fun list! Looking forward to meeting you in person next week in Dallas. π
Can’t wait, Patti!
Hey! YAY, so excited to see you again next week. First off, we gotta switch this corndog situation. They are soooo yum with mustard. You just need a good one from the Texas state fair to change your mind. Mmmmm.
LOL, I say woot in real life too, it drives my husband batty. and he laughs at me. Oh and I’m the same way about naps. None of this 1 hour or less business. My naps are 2+ hrs easy. I like the good long comfy ones. Otherwise what’s the point right?
See you soon lady! xo
I had a roommate in college who had never had a PopTart until our senior year – I’m pretty sure I’m now just stubbornly holding out π
I just love these…they are so fun! And I have to admit I have never met another soul that says “woot” out loud except me. Good to know there is one person on this earth that won’t make fun of me because she does it, too.
No feet pictures. Got it. Good thing I have a strong dislike for my feet as it is.
However…what if those feet are covered in cowboy boots? Ah?
Perspective.
Can’t wait to meet you next week, Crystal. Safe travels!
YAY! Another person as well who says woot out loud. I cannot wait to tell my husband so maybe he’ll stop teasing me.
Feed covered in cute shoes are always acceptable π
You are so fun Crystal! You’ll have to teach me how to say “woot” and not sound like a weirdo. I always feel so silly saying it. π
I’m thrilled that you’re coming back to Declare and that we get to learn from your fabulous wealth of knowledge!
Love,
Kristin
I’m just so excited to come and soak in all the awesome. It seriously feels like home – and where I’m so expectant for God to show up because I know He did last year and I”m even more excited about it this year!
I love me some black coffee too but also am prone to a weirdly involved order when in an actual coffee shop. π I love that you made your own chocolate and I am assuming you are bringing some with you, yes?
Ah, I love that you assume that means I didn’t eat it all π Which is true. I had help. But it’s totally gone, otherwise I would for sure bring some to share!
