Celebrating the National Day of Encouragement

encouragement, Everyday faith

If ever there was a “national _____ day” that I would love, today is that day! Today is the National Day of Encouragement – the perfect reminder to send someone a little love, say a kind word to a stranger at the grocery store, or follow through on that nudge from God to reach out to a friend to say “I’ve been thinking about you.”

I don’t really see today as a one-day-only opportunity to encourage someone, but a reminder to restart something you might already love doing. Encouragement should be part of who we are and what we do, no matter what the calendar says – but sometimes, especially after a busy summer season – we need a reason to be more intentional about it again.

Here are some fun ideas to help you get started:

affiliate links included – clicking these changes nothing for you but purchasing through them makes a difference for our family.

Inspirational Travel Mugs – these are currently “buy one get one free” and such a fun way to give a gift and get a gift! Maybe you and a friend could end up with matching mugs for your next coffee date!

Encouragement Cards – send a card today and stock up on more to keep handy for those days when you know a friend just needs a little love in the mail!

Send Flowers – who doesn’t love to receive flowers in the mail?

And if you need something easy & quick to do today, why not send a little encouragement ecard, text message, email, or Facebook message? Share a scripture God has put on your heart for her current season, a song you know they’ll love, or an invitation to get together for coffee or lunch?

And for you, today, rest in this truth & encouragement:

“The God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” 1 Peter 5:10
