Madi has never loved bath time. Our little water bug, who loves the lake and swimming, has always had a meltdown in the tub. She hates having her hair washed, hates getting water in her eyes (but will jump straight into the pool without a thought), and flat out refuses to get in if her grippy mat isn’t in there.
Listen, y’all. That thing was gross. It did the job but it was impossible to clean and it definitely wasn’t cute. It was also really challenging to get the entire thing stuck down, because inevitably one of the 100 little suction cups would float around. There are certain things as a mama that we just can’t fix, but making bath time feel safe? We can do that.
Disclaimer: these cute little circles will not keep your toddler from pitching a fit when one random drop of water lands in her eyeball, but they will keep her from sliding around. Also, I got these from Puj to review – the treads were free and all thoughts & opinions are my own.
Since the kiddo is the one who has high maintenance bath expectations, I had her help me install them. Listen. She is a huge fan of instant gratification so this process took FOREVER in her mind. In reality, she had to wait one day before she could take a bath again. Which she complained about, as she stood still wrapped in a towel after … um… bath time.
Her favorite part are the beautiful colors of the Puj Bath Tread circles. My favorite part was the lack of gross plastic smell that usually comes with all matter of bathroom accessory. Seriously. We rinsed all the bubble out of the bath, used a little rubbing alcohol to make sure it was super clean, and Madi grabbed a towel to dry everything. Then she handed me the circles in the order she wanted them on the bathtub, I peeled off the paper, stuck them down, and we were done. No crazy suction cups to clean around, just a simple, safe design that we both love.
But not before she climbed in the tub, in her pajamas, to hop on them to make sure they really WERE as grippy as I told her they would be. Want to hear what she thinks of them (since honestly, I can stand in a bathtub without fear of falling, so these are really more for her)?
You can get your own set of Puj Bath Treads for just $14.99 – and be sure to grab a PhillUp cup while you’re there. Madi has the lilac one on our fridge and loves being able to help herself to water whenever she’d like!
