Coming Clean by Seth Haines – I needed to catch up on a few books that I’ve been reading & loving lately, so here are two bonus favorites. If you joined me a few months ago for my Periscope book club, you’ll know that I adore Amber Haines. Well, that lovely friend is married to another incredibly talented friend, Seth Haines. His book, “Coming Clean” has recently released and is a raw & real journey through sobriety and discovering how Jesus meets us in those messy moments. If you’ve read Amber’s book, “Wild in the Hollow,” you’ve experienced their son Titus’ story from her perspective, and “Coming Clean” is Seth’s Titus story in the way only a poetic attorney from Arkansas can capture. This book is beautifully written, honest, and hope-filled, captured from Seth’s personal journal entries. It will change you and send you on your own “coming clean” journey.
Money Making Mom by Crystal Paine – A few years ago at Allume, I invited myself to join a table of women for lunch to talk about the business of blogging. I sat down beside Crystal and had no idea who she was, other than recognizing in her the type of blogger I wanted to be – one who was kind, generous with her knowledge, and incredibly savvy. And when she shared my Creative Basics course with her followers and single-handedly made it a success with a 4 line blog post, I admired her generosity with her platform as well. Crystal’s new book is a fantastic resource for anyone who is looking to make money to support their family and shares lessons she’s learned along the way. Personally, I love how she addresses some of the fears and obstacles that keep many of us from pursuing our goals – one of my favorite quotes from the books says “I’ve discovered that when you start pushing yourself outside your comfort zone, your comfort zone moves.” This book is inspiring me to view the work I do with Beachbody as a blessing and not something to be afraid of sharing, and that has taken a huge weight off my shoulders.
