Read: Joshua 1:1-5
Today is going to be a lot less about me, and instead we’ll dig deep into what God wants to speak into YOUR life through these scriptures we’ve been reading. Hopefully you’ll start to see how all of these daily posts are coming together to show how God shares His plan for work and rest throughout the Bible. If you’re able, take some time alone today to read through the scripture and the reflection questions below. We’re about to head into a very busy holiday season, so now is a great time to spend time with God so we can all keep our hustle holy over the coming weeks and months.
Reflection Questions
- How does this Scripture connect with what we read yesterday in Deuteronomy?
- What connection have you seen in your own life between a struggle to wait and a struggle to rest?
- Consider the times that you have rushed ahead without waiting on God. What blessings do you think you have missed because you chose to do things your own way?
- What are your struggles when it comes to the idea of incorporating rest into your schedule?
- What kind of rest makes you feel connected with God AND rejuvenated?
- List anything from these readings that have encouraged you to wait faithfully on God.
I have had so much fun popping into “Holy Hustle” book clubs around the country over the last few months and going through the book with a group at my home church. As we head into Thanksgiving and the hectic holiday season, I would love to invite you to join me for a virtual “Holy Hustle” book club so we can stay focused on keeping our hustle holy! Over the next few days I’ll share a reading guide and some more necessary details, but for now….a giveaway!
I would LOVE to give one of you a set of 10 copies of “Holy Hustle” so you can put an “in real life” book club together! Whether you grab some friends and chat about the book in your living room over wine and snacks, or you hang out with some ladies after your class at the gym, or you do a study at your church, you’ll be ready to go with a free set of books. YAY!
