I’m in a season of creativity right now, praise God! In addition to my day-to-day advertising/marketing/PR job where I get to be as creative as possible in a bank setting, I have had doors opening recently to other projects. If they all involved writing, I would understand. I’m an English major. I love writing – I’m a dork about fonts (side note: Blogger – update your font options, this is sad). I have books upon books collecting dust that I can’t giveaway because they hold memories of college courses I loved.
The funny thing is, God as blessed me with two opportunities to use what I’ve always considered a hobby. Photography. I would never consider myself a photographer, but in this creative season it seems as though no one will believe me when I say that. I’m doing a complete photo shoot on Saturday of the worship band Matt is plays bass for, and I’m taking senior photos for the son of a friend. Uh. Hello? I take photos and am pleasantly surprised when a few turn out better than expected. If I don’t like how they look, I convert them to black & white to hide the flaws. Do they know what they’re getting themselves into?
I bet God hears me think things like that and He chuckles at me. They might not know, but He does. He has given me the talent to do these things – and so much more! I’m so thankful that He gives us each gifts and talents to use for His glory, and grace enough to be less than perfect in our efforts.
