I was so tickled by your responses to last week’s post. And since several of you asked if maybe you could steal this idea {yes} and would I think about a link-up so people could find all the “favorites” goodness in one place {again, yes}, come on back on the last Friday of the month and we’ll do a “January Favorites” link up and you can share.
Because let’s be real – all of this stuff is awesome, but YOU are really my favorite 🙂
On to the favorites from the week {there are affiliate links included below, which means if you click through & purchase I get a tiny bit of money but at zero cost or extra time for you}:
Read
On my “one day God could I please do this” list is a Compassion International trip. I just adore them and the work they do, and we love writing to our sponsored kiddo in Mexico. This week my amazingly talented storyteller friends Kris, Amy (this one had me in tears) & Sandra have been in the Dominican Republic with Compassion, and you don’t want to miss their posts. {side note: also on that list is to attend Live with Kelly & Michael or Dancing With The Stars.}
Hope for the Weary Mom – you might think you’ve read this one before, but oh no. Not this version. My friends Stacey & Brooke have simply outdone themselves writing 200 pages of encouragement for mamas into this beautiful book. A favorite quote?
Friends don’t complete us. Friends compliment us. Only God can fill your heart with hope. True friends will point you to him.

This book announcement from Emily Freeman made me laugh & then get super excited for August. Related: I need that gold pouch in my life.
And leading into my “watch” list, this hilarious Globes recap.
Watch
The Golden Globes – I love awards shows. Scratch that. I love the red carpet and the live tweeting from Jen Hatmaker {or for pageants, Sophie Hudson}. I love a well thought out acceptance speech and immediately turn the channel as soon as someone starts to look or act awkward because I feel all the awkward with them. I love the glitz and the glamour and trying to guess who will be on the best and worst dressed lists. Those four gals above? My personal “best dressed.” Clearly I also love me some glitter.
Expedition Unknown – I’ve really enjoyed a good Josh Gates show for awhile now, ever since Destination Truth aired on SyFy, so I was really excited this week to catch his new show on the Travel Channel, Expedition Unknown. Where Josh and his team would search for mythical creatures on Destination Truth, now he’s exploring mysteries like what happened to Amelia Earhart and checking out a real life “temple of doom.” He’s hilarious and makes watching an hour long show where they ultimately find nothing surprisingly interesting. {insert nerd alert}
Church Appropriate Dance Moves – y’all, I laughed so hard when I watched this. I’m pretty sure that “salt salt salt” move needs to be in a Zumba routine somewhere. And I made hubs watch it, so we both started snickering during church last week when the pastor said something that reminded us of a dance move. Enjoy 😉
Wear
“Savor” ring from Amy Cornwell – I know there are a lot of really gorgeous and creative “one word” jewelry options out there, and I have a few necklaces last year that I really enjoyed. But this year I wanted to do something a little different. I’ve been followng Amy Cornwell on Instagram for awhile now and knew I wanted to order one of her tiny rings in rose gold {my current love} and I can’t even tell you how much I adore this ring. Super affordable, incredibly fast shipping, and perfectly understated to wear every day.
Fair Trade Friday – My amazing friend Kristen Welch has started a monthly subscription club called Fair Trade Friday that has provided over 1,000 jobs and empowers women in 12 countries through fair trade product development. The club fills up SUPER fast, so even if you don’t grab a monthly spot you can still order a one-time FTF box for $35. Mine included a gorgeous pair of earrings, a bracelet from Kenya that will go with absolutely everything, a JOYN lanyard, boot cuffs that I can’t wait to wear. You can sign up here.
Listen
Big Boo Podcast – I get so happy when Melanie and Sophie record a podcast. It’s like sitting in my kitchen with two hilarious friends who chat about all the things friends chat about. Like mascara. And queso.
Roots for the Journey: Yancy – For most of Madi’s life she listened to the same CD at bedtime and naps, until a month ago. She decided she wanted something new, so I popped in Roots for the Journey and it’s wonderful. Great music, perfect for bedtime, and not just for kids! Madi also loves the Little Praise Party app and even at three years old can pick up the lyrics to Yancy’s songs after watching just one time. Nothing makes this mama’s heart happier than hearing Madi play in the next room, singing about Jesus being her best friend 😉
So there’s the round up! What are your favorites this week? Did I miss anything you think should have made the list? Let me know!
