I know I’m supposed to be gearing up to start “nesting” for this child of mine, but does that usually include wanting to make crafts & baking? Because I could honestly care less about cleaning, but making some cute crafts or a new dessert? Bring it on! Here are a few projects I’ve worked on lately:
Pom Poms
I found this awesome tutorial on Pinterest and just had to try it (I didn’t use a fork, just two fingers). For a little more than $1 each, I grabbed two things of yarn at our local Walmart and went to town. Less than 2 hours later, I had two huge piles of mini pom poms! So easy, so fun, and they are going to make amazing accessories for Christmas gifts this year. So why, you ask, do I have them in my hurricane vases? Well…we have two cats. Cats + fun yarn pom poms = death of pom poms & sadness. Plus we had company coming over for dinner and it was the quickest way to clean them up. It’s true.

Aren’t they adorable? Love!
Fall Banner
The other project I tackled that day was a fun “autumn” banner to hang on our coat closet. Pinterest came through again with a great, free, template to download. All I did was print, cut out the letters, tape to black cardstock, cut out again, punch a hole in each one and tie them together with a little yarn I had left from the pom poms! I love it 🙂
Baking
Oh I did mention baking, didn’t I? We’ll I didn’t take any photos of my creations, but here were the recipes I made. And they were awesome. Especially the cookies. Yum.
Pumpkin Cranberry Pecan Bread (instead of 2 loaves of bread I made 1 loaf and 12 muffins)
I still have a bunch of fall projects on Pinterest that I’d like to make, and it’s so great to have one place to keep all my inspiration. Oh and there were a few other projects that happened that day as well, but since they were for Christmas gifts, I’m not going to be able to post them. Let’s just say they are fabulous. You can take my word for it {wink}.
What’s your favorite crafty project or fall food to bake? I’d love more ideas!
