So I posted two photos of the binder I created for all my Allume stuff on Twitter, and apparently y’all want to see how I made it. You make me laugh. So I called this post a “tutorial” for lack of a better word, but I promise it’s not that hard.
A disclaimer. I work in marketing. I’m an office supply dork. I’m Type A. So. There we go.
Step 1: Buy a cute little binder at Staples or your favorite office supply store. Or Amazon. Or steal one from your kids. I won’t tell. Just don’t steal one from Staples. I bought one like this, in purple. Obviously. Create a cute cover so people know who to return it to when you leave it laying somewhere.
Step 2: Buy cute binder accessories. This pocket holds my hotel confirmation, Allume ticket, and headshot ticket. But I can’t give you a link b/c they apparently don’t sell them online. I also bought these dividers and love these pockets.
Page protectors. This is my own version of the agenda for the weekend, so I know which sessions I want to attend, when to call home, which special meet-ups I’m going to, and which session to skip for naptime. Ahem. (sorry)
This page is the list of people I hope to meet. Yes, my roomies are listed. If I meet no one else on the list, I can check 3 names off 🙂
My outfit & packing list. I can promise that I’ll pack at least 2 extra outfits in case I change my mind.
These business card sleeves will be perfect for all the cards I collect 🙂
Note paper. For. You know. Taking Notes.
And finally, some goodies to hand out as the Lord leads. Amazing (in)courage postcards from Dayspring. I have them 4 x 6 photo sleeves. I think I might turn any I have left into wall art, I love them so much.
So, there you go! Your “how to make a binder for Allume” tutorial.

FanTAStic! I’ve been trying to figure out how to do mine…I’m with you on the nap idea, there’s no way this 36-week pregnant momma can make it through all the fun and excitement without a nap!

Crystal says

Oh wow, I love it! Thanks for sharing. Now you really have me re-thinking my note-taking and organizing plan for Allume. 😉
Julie Wilson says
Will you make me a binder, too?!?! 🙂
Seriously, I know it’s an awesome idea, I just haven’t actually done it yet!! Mine will be black or blue or red, whatever I can find in my basement… and as for dividers and pockets… I may be stopping at Target on my way out of town… must start writing stuff down!!

Jessica confirmed that the sessions are first come/first served, limited seating. glad I know that now!

Crystal, you are NOT a dork! You’re organized and wise. (Note: If I say you’re a dork then I’m a dork too, my binder is almost done! lol) Love your idea about the goodies. My binder includes the schedule with highlights of the sessions I want highlighted in yellow and second choice in baby blue. Not sure how you get into each session (first come first served?) so I have a backc up plan.:) I also have a pouch with my colorful highlighters and sticky pads because you could never have too many sticky pads or highlighters. Oh, I’m giddy now!
